Where do you play? I'm usually at Nickel Nickel HB, Round 1 Lakewood, Camelot. Is there some secret DDR oasis that I don't know of?

I would go to that Nickel Nickel all the time (just for the ParaParaParadise) if I had a car.

There's a place called Thrill-It Fun Center at the Outlets at Orange that has DDR X2 (and nothing else). There's the (super ghetto) Indoor Swapmeet of Stanton, which has ParaParaParadise and PercussionFreaks 3rd mix, and I go to the Round 1 in City of Industry when I am able to tag along with friends who can actually drive. Not having a car sucks really bad...

There's going to be a new Round 1 opening at the Mainplace Mall sometime near the end of the month, I'm looking forward to it.

Fullerton here. I usually go to Puente Hills or Lakewood R1 (both about 25 minutes) but I also have a home setup.

Doesn't the Lakewood R1 make you mad though? I was going there all the time, but then they moved the PIU machines closer and now I can't hear DDR at all.

Nickel's Parapara is broken actually. I used to play that all the time.

Is the SuperNOVA2 machine still in good condition at Nickel Nickel? I was going to be there with a couple of friends and that place is really bad at fixing up their machines

The SuperNOVA 2 machine works pretty well in my opinion. From what I've noticed, the right pad is slightly less responsive than the left pad, but is still playable. I went to Nickel Nickel last night, actually, for a few rounds on the left pad, and it still worked pretty well. o.o

Only thing I'm not too sure about is when doing holds since they sometimes drop; though, that could be just me >.>"

I believe all the songs on that machine are unlocked too Big Grin

They are all unlocked. The right pad is a bit sticky on down and right last time I was there. If you have a problem with the machine, you should just ask the manager to take a look at it. Quang and Marce (managers) are really nice guys that don't mind taking a look at it as long as you're willing to spend money at the arcade.

Anybody up for some arrow stomping tonight?

I won't be able to since I've already gone this week .-." ; however, I try to go on a bi-weekly basis to Nickel Nickel, for the sake of conserving money, and I switch off between there and Round 1.

(And even then, these upcoming weeks are going to be questionable for me on whether I'll be able to keep consistent Sad )

Hope someone does meet up with you though, and even then, hope you have a great time if you go ;P

I'm going either way. It's a 3-day weekend for me and I need to get out of the house. If you go there on a bi-weekly, I'm starting to wonder if I've seen you there. You'd remember me, a heavy guy that plays on expert, wears glasses, has no fashion sense.

Hmm, perhaps? I honestly don't meet many people when I go over for the DDR machine; then again, I only just started doing this bi-weekly since about a month or two ago so I'm still somewhat new to the people that do go over to Nickel Nickel. I'm also rather inconsistent on which day I go; all I know is that I go weekly o.o"

Maybe we'll pass by eventually !

Yep, I just found out a couple days ago when I went. Sad days for me, ghetto swapmeet one is the only machine that I know of left in the area. :'c

As for the supernova2 there, it felt to me like the timing judgment was unusually strict and/or the lifebar drained super fast. My timing is a bit crap because I stopped playing DDR for years, but I can play the X2 at the block just fine, while I couldn't even get halfway through Maximizor on the supernova2.

Huh, I only assumed that was natural for a Supernova2 machine. Then again, I based that off how on the console version, the lifebar depleted with a few misses compared to DDR X2 on console and whatnot. Also, it's the only Supernova 2 machine I've played on o.O

But yeah, X2 and X3 are much more forgiving with your life bar; it's part of the reason why I go over to Round 1 if I'm looking to pass several boss songs in a day (Also the pads feel much nicer >.>)

Yeah, I know exactly what you mean. All 4 cabs (1 DDR, 3 PUMP) are kind of next to each other and the DDR cab is pretty quiet.. I usually go to Puente R1, which also used to have that type of setup. But then they moved the X3 cab against the wall, next to the other 2 DDR cabs.

Hmm, so I went to nickel yesterdayand I didn't see anyone there at the supernova2 machine. Me and a couple of friends however did have fun there with dance maniax and ddr.
The machine though did have issues on player one side where the left arrow didn't register depending on where you step on it. Although I felt that player two's side worked fine.
Did saw that parapara machine was gone though. Made me sad I missed it.

Yeah, it was rather unfortunate to have the parapara machine broken : \

I'm not sure when it was removed, but I'm definite that it was some point between last year to April of this year, looking through the pictures I randomly take >.>" I remember it working fine in the summer
For the most part however, I believe the screen didn't even show the game anymore; it was just static, full of splatters and bits of different colors (wasn't pretty to see). That was the last time I saw it before its removal .-."

I must have missed you. I'm going again tomorrow though. Gonna try to bring friends.

Lifebar and timing is indeed stricter. I can AAA more stuff on x2/x3 than I can on Supernova2. Also I can spam my way through PSMO on x3, but I can't pass it on SN2.

Where in Orange County? I thought the only place that had Sound Voltex were the round1 locations.
