I'm pretty sure he did, that's the only phrase I could interpret from him. ;)

I swore I heard him say that in an EuroMIX1 too.

Did they change the voice actor from EM1 to EM2?
Or did he just change his style?

EM1 uses the old announcer as it utilises the 3rdMIX interface.
EM2 uses the new announcer as it utilises the MAX2 interface.

Oh, I thought the EM2 announcer came about first in 6th Mix.
I really liked the oler announcer, it had that cheesey 80s feel (despite DDR coming in the late 90s)
"Ooh, You're DANGEROUS!"

The new announcer started in DDRMAX 6thMIX. So what you said is correct.
"IT'S NEW!~~~"
and
"THIS IS A COOL KONAMI SOUND!" ... but it's LET THEM MOVE!

Haha, I LOL'ed. That's a good one.
And does anyone know what the newer announcer says sometimes after failing, it's something like "Asta la alsa!"
THat's been plaguing for so long, haha.

I know what you're on about... but I can't remember what it sounds like exactly.
It means "There is always a tomorrow!" in Japanese.

The old announcer is Thomas Howard Lichtenstein (I think).
The new one is called Londell Hicks.
And he actually does say 'There's always...A tomorrow!!' in falsetto!

I like Scotty D. as the battle announcer. I’d have no problem if they make him the new main announcer.

I'd prefer it if they got rid of the announcer altogether, he really doesn't add anything to the game. We already have step ratings, a combo meter, letter grades, dance meter, and total score to tell us how we're doing, the announcer just makes it hard to hear the music.

MAYBE Konami doesn't want to us to get good audio rips >_> But, yeah, there should be a way an option to turn it off...

well PS2 ver sux. When you get a 100 combo, the annoucer cuts off trying to say something else.
Example : wow 200 comb-you're doing great!

Very possible. After all, if it weren't for the announcer, we could get pretty perfect mp3s of all the music. I guess since you can't get perfect IIDX and pop'n mp3s from the game, they figured they aught to do it for DDR .

"Thank you for releasing me!" |
My favorites:
"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh. You couldn't make it." (I got so annoyed at this on Extreme US. Every single time I failed a nonstop course...)
"Give it your best shot!" - 5th mix
"Are you watching the sequence okay?"
"Show me your hottest moves!" - 5th mix (i think)

It's 'ashita ga aru sa!', which basically means the same thing as 'there's always a tomorrow!"
My favorite is the one from 5thMIX, which two other people have already mentioned but I want to mention again:
"I can see a dream in your dance. I can see tomorrow in your dance. We can call it our hope."
I started cracking up when I first heard that. I mean, come on, wtf?
