DJ Hero was the only way we ever got anything like Beatmania (and it still was barely similar) in Europe

Part of the 5-Key series and released in 2000. Featured 7 exclusive licenses too.

DDR X is actually DDR 11thMIX, SuperNOVA2 is 10thMIX. They gave the game the name purely for the year it was released in, roman numeral X being 10 to mark it's 10th anniversary.

Also I saw a bit of flaw in your post, this is how the order goes past DDR 5thMIX:

DDRMAX = 6thMIX
DDRMAX2 = 7thMIX
DDR EXTREME = 8thMIX
and so on and so forth...

...
DDR 2014 = 15thMIX

:v

"Yuuki Mishima for Tekken"
Meanwhile beatmania is on it's 22nd Mix and isn't confusing anyone with the year the game came out or any MAX/Supernova/X stuff.

There's never been a PC port of Rock Band

Plus the PC port of Guitar Hero III was downright awful from a performance standpoint (plus SecuROM, ew)

Well, thanks to that PC port, we now have Frets on Fire + Rock Band theme.

Basically, a PC port could be modded to put in songs not allowed through conventional means, unless they go the DRM-route for the PC version (which if you've caught up to date with SimCity, Diablo III, and other fine examples of DRM-only games and how they have lasted 'DRM'), then they could probably get away with it. But I doubt that could really happen for both GH and RB.

Once a game is out on PC, modders go crazy with it no matter if the game itself allows modifications or not. People will find a way to mess, tamper, even change the game completely from what it was originally. Unless you have anally-tight security on the game, you can't stop people from changing up the game to their liking.

It could be a good thing, it can be horrendously bad for the series, honestly I wouldn't mind it simply to have a third option outside just PS4 and Xbox One, but given the capabilities of both systems and the unique features both have, it's fairly likely it's headed for consoles only.

I'm suffering right now. Trying to purchase any DLC in the Rock Band Music Store on Xbox 360 will claim that 'there are no items available for download right now'.

Rock Band 4 survey. Yeah, it's happening either this year or the next.

I suggest you guys take the survey if you want to shape the future of Rock Band and junk.

Just took it. Survey is just details on how you like the other games and what things you like and what dont you like.
Seems like they want the community to shape the new Rock Band.

Given the circumstance with the sudden drop in new DLC and this survey, it pretty much points to them wanting feedback from players as to what they want primarily for the next Rock Band game.

And it's awesome to know that the development for Amplitude (PS3/PS4) isn't halted for this. Well, maybe a little, they did push the release window from March to Summer of 2015, but this was due to them figuring out the kinks to the PS4's hardware capabilities and trying to focus a lot more detail for that version than on PS3 since both systems have different hierarchical operating systems.

Pretty excited to see what this new Rock Band has in store for next gen consoles, and what they plan on doing with the literal 1,000's of DLC songs from Rock Band's past games.

Talking about Guitar Hero, This blog pretty much outlines the info surrounding the rumored next-gen game, and just recently another rumor has popped up which claims that Guitar Hero is also returning in 2015 with 'live crowds' for each song and a ton of collaborations with huge bands.

Let the band-centric next gen music gaming war begin Fall 2015(?).
