Konami is making me sad here; I would love to play this "home" version of SDVX, but the chances of it getting localized are the same as Infinitas'. :/

That controller looks slick, though; it's gotta be a tad cheaper than the Virgoo Turbocharger+.

When and how much for both subscription and controller.

Nothing confirmed yet, but i suppose it will cost almost the same as Infinitas. We have to wait for JAEPO to know more about this.

In my opinion, i'm far from being impressed about this game, even if this is a ported version of GW (my favorite SDVX game) only because how Bemani managed INFINITAS. Yeah, the pad is awesome but as for me it will be almost impossible to buy this because of how expensive this will cost (considering also the pad maybe will be limited as the IIDX one).

Idk, i'll give it a try but i'm still sceptical about this

Well... i know that you don't like so much "bumping" threads... but i need to talk about the CS/PC version. All you know (or if you don't know) that an alpha version has started a couple days...

Well, i have a first "issue", after installed and pop-up'd the launcher, that one just crashed, and even starting as admin, still crashes. Anyone with the same problem??

There wasn't a whole lot to talk about the PC version until recently, I think the bump warning is just there to try and deter people from mindlessly bumping threads.

Anyway, the FAQ might have the answer to your problem, courtesy of Google Translate:

Quote
Q: During game startup, the screen gets dark and the application ends.
A: If the communication is disturbed at the beginning of the game due to firewall shutdown etc. in PC or anti-virus application settings, the game can not start normally.
Please check the settings of firewall and antivirus application.

Correspondence example (Some applications use different item names):
· Register sv3c.exe in Firewall's [ Exceptions ] in the firewall settings.
· Register sv3c.exe in [ Exceptions ] in the anti-virus application settings.
· If the antivirus application setting has [ blacklist], exclude sv3c.exe from there.

* [Sv3c.exe] is the default installation folder,
32 bit version os [C: \ Program Files \ KONAMI \ eacloud \ SOUND VOLTEX III GRAVITY WARS (e-AMUSEMENT CLOUD) Trial 1.1 \ modules]
64 bit version os [C: \ Program Files (x86) \ KONAMI \ eacloud \ SOUND VOLTEX III GRAVITY WARS (e-AMUSEMENT CLOUD) Trial 1.1 \ modules]

Something to try. I'm downloading the game myself right now.

On another note, I was reading the whole FAQ for the game (under Google Translate), and it claims that Konami will try to have the entire songlist of the AC version on the CS version final release.

Is the new cloud version playable on US computers without crazy region-unlock sorcery? Or does it take measures against US players like Infinitas did?

INFINITAS never took measures against US players (and still doesn't). There was some confusion in early alpha, but that may have been from the limited timetable of the first test? I've never had a problem with it, but I did not participate in the alphas, as I did not have a good enough PC at the time.

I'm also able to run SDVX without any problems and without doing anything funky to my computer, though I do find that odd, since unlike INFINITAS, SDVX does have the "THIS GAME IS FOR SALE AND USE IN JAPAN ONLY" screen in it.

It appears that SDVX will operate with tickets (I started with 1000 for the alpha test, light start needs 3, standard start needs 4 and blaster start needs 6). Which, given that Konami plans to make scores compatible with AC, seems to make sense to me. Also, the SDVX Station is present (and conforms to SDVX III specs), but I was seeing stuff in there that I was able to play before popping in there. So it may just be for show right now.

Also, just as a test, I attempted to log in with my US Konami ID, and was refused.

(EDIT)Hmm, after running the settings dialog through GTranslate, the top option in the first tab is a setting to choose to run the game windowed or full screen.

"now led_light for short"
I installed and was able to play the game without too much issue. I don't know how many of you changed your computer's system locale to Japan, but that might help.

And yeah, the game settings do allow you to run in fullscreen, windowed fullscreen, or window mode, along with display and resolution settings, something I wish INFINITAS also allowed too. Key configuration can be done here too (second tab); just for fun, I wanted to see if I could get my IIDX controllers to work with the game, but the game doesn't seem to recognize them. Sad

Hi-speed and timing adjustment settings are done in-game, however, and right before a song starts too, which isn't a lot of time at all to get exactly right, although you can save these settings so you don't have to change after every song.

I'm not sure how we're going to pay for this game in the final release, but if it's on a per-ticket (instead of per-month) basis, I would be less inclined to keep playing, since I can't fail as many times as I want and both the game and the new controller would be a bigger investment of time and money, especially when I'm already playing INFINITAS.

I'm not surprised they're using the exact same protocols as Infinitas (i.e., you have to have a Japanese Konami ID to download the program, and you can only use Japanese credit cards/Paseli once the final version is out (you have to use bit cash if you're outside Japan, etc.), so eh...

I would say that if people find this all a hassle (and I'm sure plenty of them will still do, myself included), you can just play K-Shoot Mania and Google the SDVX .ksm packs, but Konami actually has the upper-hand in that no one else has/will have the "Complete" SDVX III song list with all the charts and FX audio; the one site that has those .ksm files are mostly unfinished and only have one audio file that makes it similar to playing a non-keysounded file on a IIDX simulator.

So it really begs the question for those interested in playing this: Are you that desperate to finally play finished SDVX III songs at home?

Beta test will take place soon, they posted details here: http://www.konamistyle.jp/item/73806

They state the game will eventually end up with as many songs as the arcade version ended up with.

Strange place to announce the beta (it's not mentioned at all on the game website).

I hadn't gotten around to preordering a controller yet due to being too busy at work, and I checked a couple days ago and P-A is all out of them now Neutral.

It's now confirmed you need to buy tickets via Paseli in order to play the game.

Alpha test has ended, beta test has begun. The Alpha client will not work for the beta (I tried to open the launcher to see if it would update, and just got a message that Google Translate says was "The alpha test has ended, thank you for your cooperation), so it is necessary to download the beta client from the website.

this game is really good. though it costs tickets per play, the nice thing is that you can now access standard/blaster start, and your unlocks and scores will go back and forth between this and SDVX IV AC. meaning that if you're a US player your blast chains just got 100% easier

It seems the ticket icon on the game launcher does not link directly to the area for purchasing tickets for playing. Seems a little weird to me.

Monthly subsciption (2198 yen) will be available in the official release with [INFINITE MODE], while ONLINE PLAY and SKILL ANALYZER still require VOLTEX CLOUD TICKET. By playing SDVX IV arcade with an e-AMUSEMENT PASS associated to the KONAMI ID you use for logging in the CLOUD version, these data can be shared in ONLINE PLAY and SKILL ANALYZER:
--Clear rank
--High score
--Unlock status
--Appeal card

The number of songs playable in INFINITE MODE is around 300, and these features are disabled:
--Arcade data sharing
--progressing STORY
--earning PACKETs and BLOCKs

Oh Konami, you slay me as usual... :/

Why even have the subscription model in the first place if you can't fully play the game? Or an even better question: Why would you still want to pay for tickets just to play a round when you can do the exact same thing (with all the songs) at the arcade?

I still feel like this "home" version is absolutely pointless because of the ticket system...
