PandemiXium 4 (FINAL UPDATE)

After some time of being able to play through the new stuff, I gotta say I really liked Arcadia and Damage per Second, as well as the challenge chart Dawn of Falcon. All of it was good, but these were the ones that shine the most. I wonder what will come up with Update 2...

Announcements!

1. There won't be an April Fools file this year. The day snuck up on me and it would ruin the 4 song pack flow.

2. The next song update will be SINOBUZ themed. Also expect it to be out within the next week or 2 along with some 10 footers.

Update 2 will be out between Wednesday and Friday.

Ah, finally got some time to play those songs. Some of the charts that I loved extra much? Acquire and Kotobuki. As for the new songs, just by listening to them gives me vibes that at least one of them might get a challenge chart later on. Anyways, there will probably be 11's on the third update and I'll be excited for the time when it's released which songs will get 11's and what the newer songs will be.

Whoa, it went quicker this time getting these files up. Although we have a problem, Volt (USAO remix) is missing it's audio file.

MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT: Not update 4 yet but that should be coming out later this week. Been more focused on Summer Contest as of late.

Anyway I guess now would be the time to announce this. After over 7 years and literally hundreds of simfiles, I've decided AviatoR will be the final installment of the PandemiXium series. PandemiXium originally was to be a trilogy and was going to end with 3, but things got kind of carried away and I wanted to work with themes. I also thought doing 4 small packs would not take me 3+ years either. With that being said, it's safe to say that I've wanted 4 to be done for awhile now. Pandy bit off more than he can chew again, shocked I know.

I want to take my simfiles to a new direction and I've been somewhat experimenting with Summer Contest. Not sure what the direction entirely is of yet but I feel like now is the best time to end the project rather than getting half way into PandemiXium 5 and getting burnt out mid way. This is not a spur of the moment thing, this is something I've thought about for a long time and I think if I'm not 100% sure that I can finish another PandemiXium project, then I feel like I should not try to push myself into finishing it. Now just feels like the right time to end things.

Another reason I want to end the project is I feel like the steps have lost focus on what I want them to be. I didn't want to turn into a pack where the focus was just the harder stuff. The challenge charts are meant to be bonus charts and not the highlight of the projects. Long story short, I need to hit the reset button and re-think how I want the future of my simfiles to look. The last thing I want is to turn the pack into waiting on the next super hard boss chart. I also feel like with this structure some really good simfiles get lost in the amount of simfiles as a whole, so I want to be able to fix that as well. Overall, I feel like there's so many changes I need to make that PandemiXium would not be PandemiXium with the changes but a whole different beast. If I'm going to have a complete renaissance of my simfiles, I need just start on a new page.

I'm not sure with real life now being a thing if I can pull out another 100+ simfile project anymore in a timely matter. My next project will be more denser than these packs that I've been doing and will likely be more spreatic than big chunks.

I'm not saying my thank yous and goodbyes just yet as I still got worked to do with AvatoR, but the TL: DR of this is PandemiXium is ending after this pack.

It's sad to know for me who was a late, but avid follower of the series that it's going to end, but I can understand where the decision comes from. But from what I've read from your post, it seems the end of this series doesn't mean the end of you making simfiles. It'll be interesting to see what the next projects would like, if or when they happen. I haven't been following Summer Contest these recent years as I haven't been participating either (mostly due to me doubting my own "skills" in chart making), so I haven't noticed what the experiments looked like.

Either way, if there's a third era, starting out small might be the most advisable thing to do

As in harder than Doppelganger...? Jesus... I get even more scared about what might come after that, since there's still three songs left including that one (from what I've understood)...

Boss level 3 is the hardest song in the pack. Song 4 is "End of AviatoR" and song 5 is "End of PandemiXium".
