Gah, I wish I could make Mondays, I could go for some R&R. For the off chance you haven't taken a look at it, several people keep the arcades page for CTF up-to-date so the info there should be fresh. Watch out for possible crashes on the 4 panel machines too if you play them.
Let us know for next time (and maybe I can actually make it haha).

It's a Thurday, but I'll keep checking the page periodically. Mainly want my Guitar Freaks fix, but definitely ReRave will be getting a play.
I thought you said March 24th for some reason, oops, sorry.
Allegedly they plan to upgrade to ReRave Plus soon, not sure when though.

A Thursday? Not too sure if I can make it at that time. I could've perfectly done Fridays, as my breaks on Fridays are much longer.

April 24th? That's a day after my birthday :3
Besides that, I think I might pay a visit to CTF again on that day. Maybe meet a few new people despite my social awkwardness
I don't remember how long I've touched a DDR, IIDX, and ReRave cabinet since my last visit. Seeing how they are upgrading often, it sounds nice.

Sorry, NuVirus! Thursdays are my only day off during the week from work, so that explains it. If I stay the night at a friends, I most likely could end up back at CTF on Friday before heading home.

I just went to Tri County Fair in Levittown for the first time and it was pretty good. They have a DDR 2013 machine as well as a IIDX 21 Spada. Everything seemed pretty responsive and I enjoyed myself.

Since when does a fair have arcade machines like those? I wish the Bloomsburg Fair had them...

Reviving this thread because why not?
In light of CTF going to the toilet, and the rise of Nanuet Arcade, I have been talking with a fellow Nanuet ITG player about organizing an ITG tournament at Nanuet Arcade. Any thoughts?

Thanks for reviving this thread! Tri-County also has IIDX (but it's broken) and DDR SuperNova 2. There is also a DAve & Buster's in Islandia with guitar hero and pump it up prime.
And I can HARDLY WAIT for Round 1 to open up in the Broadway Mall in Hicksville!!! I hope they get GITADORA, SDVX, IIDX Copula, and maybe even Pop'n Music too!

Oh cool this is back - I can help with the rundown that cmg/01 started but it'll be a bit more general thank just LI...
The times square D&B is actually getting DDR (US)A, allegedly next month, someone went and asked management, their X is kinda shitty but if you are there it's not the absolute worst. Then again it's X.
Round 1's gonna be hype but it's a bit far for me to do on the regular, since CTF has Nanuet's machines now and the ITG's pads are being maintained I've been going there. (DDR there's pretty good, pump's mediocre.)
8 on the break has good cheesesteak, and there's going to be a sightread tournament there next month.
Hope you all are doing good and hopefully I'll catch some of you around!

Three that I still know of, in North Jersey
1) 8 On The Break's X3 vs. 2ndMIX machine, as mentioned by the above post.
2) AMC 24 Hamilton has a SuperNOVA 1 machine, The pads and the speakers aren't the best, but you get 5 songs for 75 cents.
3) A pretty nice condition SuperNOVA 2 machine is in Six Flags Great Adventure's arcade. Last summer I activated Unlock Code MAX.
Sightread tournament? How does that work? I'm interested...

Meanwhile, up north...
D & B (West Nyack) - Apparently this finally got upgraded to PIU Prime 2015. I went to nab afree credit left on the machine, but then I noticed that the announcer voice was different. I looked up to check the banner, and...imagine my surprise. Plus, they finally fixed up the pads to perfect condition. Can't recall the last time that machine was this good.
Round 1 (Hicksville) - With the opening date slated sometime next Spring, the timing could not be anymore perfect for me. Note to self: Take all your classes in the Long Island classes next Spring.
Chinatown Fair (NYC) - Just started going back here, and apparently they're getting DDR A as well. Two DDR A machines within NYC? Nothing wrong with that. ^ ^
D & B (Pelham Manor) - Pretty promising setup, being NY's newest D & B location (as of March 2015). Naturally, a lot of it's games are newer, and exclusive to it (not seen in NY's other Tri-State D & B locations). PIU Prime is one of them.
Sportime USA (Elmsford/White Plains) - No idea what's going on up here with their ITG2, since no one goes here anymore.
Funfuzion (New Rochelle) - ITG2 is in their default theme, but has a lot of songpacks on it. PIU Zero, PIU Pro, DDR Extreme, DDR Megamix, DDR SN1, DDR SN2, and ReRave+ are all also found here. Quite a lot of rhythm games for one location in this part of NY, don't you think?

Here's the link to the sightread thing, it explains it better than I can; personally I'm not a huge fan of a Friday tournament, but I was really only going to go to say hi to people and not enter so it's no big deal for me.
RE Funfuzion: I think it needs to be mentioned that every music game there is at least $2 unless you get a massive bulk discount, apparently there are some other discounts too (NuVirus told me actually)
Also there's a Supernova in an AMC movie theater in clifton but holy crap it's terrible.
Very pleased that Nyack's pump is actually playable again, the best I was ever able to pass there was a 12. If I'm ever around that could be fun but usually I'm around CTF grind on Saturdays, don't be a stranger if you happen to be there.

I have been really busy lately so I haven't been able to get back to CTF or TriCoutny Flea Market in a while. I am hoping they fix the IIDX machine at TriCOunty because it sounds like they are getting rid of IIDX at CTF. If anyone else is interested in In The Groove 2 we also have a machine of that in Centreach, NY (Long Island) at Tiki Mini Golf. Also if anyone gets updates on when a Dave and Busters in the area gets DDR-Ace please do a post I am so hyped for this! Going to try and make it to CTF this weekend.
I also am hopeful that we can get some kind of community going once Round 1 hits. Of course it's not going to be huge as times have changed but even a small one is nice! I find people who play music games to be really friendly and welcoming (at least in person).

(Smashes invisible like button on your post 100 times)
Why would CTF want to get rid of IIDX anyway? I thought it was pretty popular, and the IIDX machine at CTF is the only working one in New York State! My fingers are crossed as tightly as humanly possible for IIDX at Tri-County to be fixed!
And FYI I will most likely be going to Tri-County on Sunday or Monday.

I might enter the sightread tournament at The Break. It's on the ITG2 machine, right?
Oh wait... to win you have to pass a 13. LOL no way I'm getting anywhere far in that... I'll get to round 3 and then get rekt pretty easily.
Maybe I'll submit a file or two? IDK.

Yep, sightread tournament is on the ITG2. It would be cool to have some more ZIV representation there (though I'm not sure if I can make it now that I've thought about it a bit more).
Not sure about CTF's iidx, while it's been outshined by all 3 of the dance games it still seems like it's doing a fair job of getting some people. Haven't heard about it being sold. I'll be at CTF too this weekend so maybe I'll get caught up.
If I had to guess, maybe they're getting rid of it for one of the new things coming in (Groove Coaster, Initial D and that elevator game that's usually in the round 1s) but I could name a few things that could go first. (I could count the times I've seen people play Killer Queen on one hand, that Space Ball thing has been broken for months...)
