MTA site showing bridges/tunnels & their respective toll fares: http://web.mta.info/bandt/traffic/btmain.html#cars

Note that the GW Bridge, Lincoln/Holland Tunnels will only charge if you enter NYC. They are free going back from NYC. Notably, the Queens Bridge going between midtown Manhattan & Queens has no toll plazas, so only that one is entirely free.

If anything, if the traffic is bad enough going into NYC from any of those three passages, there may be a merit in going around via the Tappan Zee Bridge (whose toll fare is much cheaper compared to the three NJ/NYC crossings) to cross the Hudson River, followed by the Whitestone/Throgs Neck Bridge to go in & out of Queens/Nassau County.

As for hours at the Broadway Mall, they should be open as early as 8 or 9 AM tomorrow, given that the mall has a Target & IKEA.

Those wishing to camp arrive at Round1 before opening time (10 AM) may want to arrive at around the mall's opening time.

For any NYers wishing to travel to/from the Hicksville Broadway Mall via mass transit have the following options:

LIRR -- Ronkonkoma Line (purple) or Port Jefferson Line (blue). $9.75 each way between NY Penn Station & Hicksville. $7.50 each way between Jamaica Center & Hicksville.

NICE Bus ($2.75 fare, multiple options below):
n20G/H bus for travel between Flushing Queens & Hicksville, via Northern Boulevard. Transfer at Great Neck between n20G/n20H. Bus stops right outside Broadway Mall parking lot. Walk west to enter mall.

n22 for travel between Jamaica Queens & Hicksville, via Mineola Transit Center & Roosevelt Field Mall. Must walk north from the bus stop at John Street & Wyckoff Street to the Broadway Mall.

n24 for travel between Jamaica Queens & Hicksville, via Mineola Transit Center & Roosevelt Field Mall. Must walk north from the Hicksville LIRR station to the Broadway Mall.

n48/n49 for travel between Hempstead & Hicksville, via East Meadow & Levittown. Last stop is at Broadway Mall, walk west to enter mall.

Not even an hour in here, and...everything I learned & studied about claw machines & claw machine physics in my entire life...all of it IS A LIE inside a Round1 arcade. UFO Catchers are different.

I actually was watching UFO Catcher videos last night to try to understand how to get those big prizes. It's a very different strategy and takes quite a few rounds usually to get a plush down to you!

Yeah, forget that. Practically everyone else won something. Meanwhile, I'm empty-handed (now out $23). And don't let the low ticket prices for redemption prizes receive you.

Quite honestly, I was never a fan of these corporate chain bowling arcades spamming NY, with overpriced games/prizes, and stupidly rigged machines.

Meanwhile, down on the Jersey Shore, redemption/claw games are much cheaper, and less rigged.

I bet you, the $20-100 each person spends on claw/ticket games at a Round1 or Bowlmor, just to walk out with barely a few prizes or worse...take that same money to Point Pleasant, or Seaside Heights, and you'll be going home with anywhere from a tote bag full to a cart load of prizes.

Seriously, fuck NY redemption arcades. All of them. I'm glad I closed down my shop & stopped from caring about "Advantage Play" arcades in NY.

If there's one thing I actually like there, it's that Hit The Beat game. The art style & characters I find really cute & adorable, especially the light blue ghost-looking guy (who's clearly Inky from Pac-Man). I feel so bad for beating him up at the end of Xenesis... ;w;

Well, I've just returned from Round 1...And I had a great time!!! First of all, I FINALLY got my own E-Amusement pass...I'm overjoyed about it. Second of all, I improved MASSIVELY in Sound Voltex - I'm now clearing songs up to a level 8! (I did even try a level 9 song, but I failed it >.< The knobs are the annoying part!!!) I even got these really cool cards from the card generators. I can't stop staring at the VENUS one!!

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DDsJYxGUwAQcnyz?format=jpg

I also tried out crossbeats, but it didn't really appeal to me...And MÚSECA!!! I loved MÚSECA and got the hang of it really quickly. I clear songs up to a level 8 on it! Very Happy

Moreover, I had wanted to play Beatmania IIDX SINOBUZ but the lines were way too long Oops

The best part was getting to see prince_david again, as well as meeting some other users from here like joesushi (I think he goes here but IDK...) and warpdr!ve! They were all super nice and super cool people to be with Big Grin

Overall, I had a great day here today and I will DEFINITELY be coming back! Green Grin

I had an awesome time at Round 1's opening today! It was of course great to see you again 01angel, as well as meeting warpdrive and seeing joesushi! THere were certainly some issues but as time goes on I am sure they will work it out (certain machiens being off or offline). This is a great addition to our community and great rhythm games you can't play elsewhere. The bowling, karaoke, darts, ping pong and billiards are also a great addition.

Also I made a killing at the UFO Catchers. I did try some and fail but i moved on, and then ended up getting two big plushes on 3 tries.

I made a video tour, I hope to see you all again sometime at Round 1!

Yeah today was pretty fun, not stoked about the lack of ddr and project diva being down but the rest was pretty good. The commute is sure a pain in the butt for anyone in NJ though.

I think I saw most of the people that posted here actually, it was pretty cool, 01angel, joe, nuvirus, and david, it was good to see you all. (And thank you 01 for the nice words about my charts too lol)

I'm not the biggest fan of prime 2 personally but for the most part it was ok, 2p right-down was a bit undersensitive as well. The UFO catchers didn't have any prizes I really wanted besides the kirbies, but I already had a plush kirby. Pretty ironic considering that the kirbies were being won at a pretty fast clip so that could have been a pretty easy win for me if I wanted to. No touhou though so I wasn't going to be doing much in that department either. I do appreciate some people recognizing my plush, got to bring it more often haha. Voltex was in good shape, the left's knobs were a bit more sensitive than right's but they both worked well.

@NuVirus - the ufos are more incremental so, it's not that they're rigged, more that they're slow, and usually when people are close they keep going to the win. There was a pair of girls tearing it up picking off some of the easier ones in fast succession after you left, if you stayed maybe you should have asked them for tips. ;p

Overall I can't say I'm going to be able to do this commute every time but I'll certainly be going every now and then. Good stuff!

We appreciate you making the big trip out here! I know how that is because I sometimes would make that big trip to Exton and 8otB (I will be there for CotC this year too!) It was really good getting to meet you and I adored your Marisa plush! I was surprised how well I was able to do with those UFO catchers and was able to get a couple of gift souvenirs for someone. If you do come out again let me know I will try to meetup with you there!

Oh yeah totally, I'm going to start blanket posting when I go to either the break or round 1; I was floating the idea of going one more time this weekend because of the holiday but once I remember the commute I probably won't lmao. The new passes on some 15s on voltex do make it mighty tempting hehe.

The touhou plushies float around all over the place, I actually got pretty lucky that a high rated seller was selling one for pretty cheap on amazon when I took the plunge; marisa was pretty cheap at $20-25ish but the older ones are way more expensive.

Actually there's a marisa that's 15 right now lol. Seller has low feedback though so that could make it a bit more dubious.

awesome sounds good! And yeah its a long haul plus this is openign weekend and 4th of July weekend i bet it will be mroe crowded then usual. I think the crowds will stabilize later. Nice that Marisa is not bad in price, maybe someday I will get a Remilia.

I might possibly go to CTF tomorrow before going to a Eurobeat party in brooklyn, i will have to see how my day goes. I will be back at Round 1 often though for sure

Fun times today. prince_david and warpdr!ve always a pleasure, good seeing you two again. 01angel it was nice finally meeting you and nice SDVX cards. IIDX Sinobuz is awesome and hopefully you'll get a few rounds in next time.

In regards to IIDX, the keys on both 1P and 2P sides are really light, which was ok for me but maybe installing switches that are a bit heavier may be a overall plus for everyone who plays. The headphone amp was also a nice plus.

Got there at 9:30 AM, left at 3:30 PM. Walking all the way to Hocksville LIRR to wait for the n22 was NOT fun at all. The commute going back home sucked.

Luckily, the college I go to is near Hicksville. So to anyone who is able to visit Round1 Hicksville regularly from September onwards will hopefully being seeing a lot of me there (hopefully PIU Pro 2 is up & running by then, I really enjoyed playing on one at Coney Island one Summer).
