WINNER: I Wonder / Kanye West
One of the more underrated tracks on one of his best albums. Loving how Kanye worked the sample into the beat, and the extra instrumentation that keeps getting layered on top truly help compliment the original sample. The vocal flow starts off accentuated to the beat and leads into his more usual flow in the second verse, and it works better than you would think it does. This track feels like something you would hear in a victory lap. I guess that's the case since this album is basically one big victory lap for Kanye himself after the success of his first two albums. This is one of the tracks that made me realize how much great material I was ignorantly skimping out on by ignoring West's material.

RUNNER UP: Rollin' & Scratchin' / Daft Punk
An unusually noisy affair from one of my favorite duos in music. Most people I talk to that know this song usually skip it or tune off halfway, but I adore this track. The harsh noise influence really helps build the intensity of the track, helps get me pumped for whatever it is I want to tackle that day. The beat doesn't switch up much from its original pattern, but when the track builds, it builds. Such a cathartic listen. I could make the argument that it's in their top 20 best songs, but that list is subjective.

Welp, this 10-song selection appears to be a good gauge of just what genres appear on most of my devices.
I tend to treat my pick in these things as more of a personal recommendation rather than just "this song is the best" specifically because my 10 songs are almost always of vastly differing genres. (Both BEMANI entries in this are oddly also both Nekomata)

This is going to give away some of my preference towards doujin progressive and trance, but my recommendation for this one is a very energetic trance remix of Morning Sun by known trance producer Hiroyuki ODA (Hanasoumen-P) for the Days Remixed album from Otographic Music.

Honorable mentions and random comments about the other songs:

I actually want Active NEETs to make another edition because this is just a nice way of bringing together the doujin VGM jazz circles.

Holy crap, all 10 of these songs are amazing. Ultimately, I chose Move Along out of these 10 songs. I remember in 2007 when the Lego Bionicle movie was being advertised, and Move Along was the song that was playing in that advertisement. It fit perfectly. I was more easily influenced when I was a kid (I was 10-almost-11 at the time), and this advertisement influenced me to ask my mom to buy me a whole bunch of legos for my 11th birthday, which was coming soon at the time. Anyways, that's besides the point, I love this song, and it was my favorite pop song at the time.
