i think there are a lot of people who still play in this area.. every time i go to oakland mall there are a bunch of people playing ITG, but i am anti-social so i just play DDR by myself. do you have personal cabs?

I have a beatmania The Final and a beatmania III converted into a IIDX, that also has Technomotion pads for dance games :v I rarely go to Oakland now that GFDM is somewhere up north.

If you're around Ann Arbor ever, Pinball Pete's has a Stepmania cabinet I administrate with nearly 3000 songs on it, in addition to DanceManiax 2nd Append and PPP 1st+.

All our GFdms were busted though, thanks to the college crowd.

it's cool that the stepmania cab is there now, but the pads are super recessed. someone should raise them up a bit.

We're working on it, my playtester just hasn't had the extended time to get down there and work on it.
It'll happen soon, I promise.

EDIT: Certainly in time for the tournament in June!

I'm just surprised that an SM cab is permited in an actual arcade business.

If you have a better-looking skin that supports 3.9+ Redux and provides arcade-style presentation, I may consider it. Keep in mind once SM5 receives a stable release, it will be upgraded.

Additional arrow skins will be added before the tournament, if that's where your problem lies.

All the panels on the Stepmania cabinet have been cleaned, raised, re-padded, and had the neon arrays removed to make for easy future cleaning and modifications (the lights aren't needed, since the cabinet is currently running a JPAC and not a Minimaid Board). The whole process took me about six hours last Friday.

In addition, the sound was significantly turned up on the cabinet as of today.

A new marquee is coming soon to make the cabinet look a little less dead, possibly within the next couple weeks.

It doesn't help that I generally find CS and it's color schemes repulsive on a base level, but everything about it is extremely way too busy for a low res old DDR screen. You can barely make out difficulty numbers and most text on it. If you plan on running AC stepmania I'm really confused as why you'd run 3.9 anything, and not just make a ITG2 or oITG hdd.

You're welcome to your opinions. I personally find ITG in general to look pretty repulsive.

I find the problem is primarily with the quality if the monitor and not the theme itself. The new monitor the owners put in the cabinet a few weeks back has helped with legibility a lot.

that's cool. since last posting in this thread i also acquired a DDR cab. do you have oITG running on it? i just have the extreme that it came with running.. i have been having a hell of a time getting a hold of the guy who was selling minimaids on bemanistyle and haven't decided to settle for a jpac yet.

they're gauging interest on another run of minimaids right now, I have one and it's the best

Weird, we were just up there visiting my wife's family a few months ago. I didn't even know there was a D&B there, haha. I did play the Stepmania machine at Pinball Pete's, though.

The D&B just opened in December. And because there is not much to do in the area its been PACKED every weekend I have been there. You have to park in the office parking lot (not connected) because the lot is always full.
