The lack of ANY mention of Animal Crossing makes me want to cry Cry

Also, wasn't Konami supposed to release a DDR MMO-style app for iOS/Android?

Yeah. In February. And then February came and went and nothing. But hey, if the brand needs to take a year off to get its shit together and figure out what the series is supposed to be, then go for it. Better release a good product later than a half-baked one that no one will play.

This is the sad truth since DDR X2. Oh well. It was fun while it lasted. (Although 'almost dead' sounds better for me.)

This is very sadly true. Pretty much all of the casual players (and many people who would potentially get into DDR) have moved to "more realistic" dance games such as Just Dance. Even the online community is starting to die, with many of the great Stepmania sirs closing down as well.

I want to see a new DDR for PS3 but I hope NAOKI pay more atenttion to the fanbase.

The trailer was so promising.
This trailer was even more promising:

And to think, I was kind of being a spoiled player for wanting all the PS2 characters. At this point, I would be happy if they stuck with this version. ^

Also, if you ask me, I think DDR X was when the series began to drop. Around that year, people stopped playing music/rhythm games and moved on the Call of Duty and WoW.

This makes me wonder if I should keep playing DDR or call it quits. Sad
Thanks so much for the banner Lord Toon! And for the icon Dan!

The lack of DDR is sad, but I'm more upset over the lack of info on Fire Emblem: Awakening.
Oh
There was some?
Well maybe they should have FUCKING ANNOUNCED IT AT E3 AND NOT IN A TWEET

....looking at it now, should we as a community consider DDR CE not "our" DDR, but at the very least be covered/critiqued/looked at seeing that it's the ONLY DDR US game being brought out this year (as far as we know anyway, hello DDR MMO mobile version, still waiting for you to be released...) and could potentially hold some qualities as to the future of the DDR series in the case that the licensing music for that game is now under a Sony music label and the such?

To be honest, I wasn't expecting a "DanceDanceRevolution III".
It would be bad anyway.

This makes me wonder if I should keep playing DDR or call it quits. Sad

If you enjoy playing there is really no reason to stop. I had this chilling feeling though that DDR II was our swan song. Konami knows DDR is dead and released such an awesome game to us (dedicated players) because its obvious they no longer are catering to casual players. Besides, won't DDR III be awesome with all of those songs revived from DDR I/II. However supposedly DDR x3 is doing modestly well in Japan so DDR may not be truely dead, we just won't get anymore CS games. However, a certain simulator does make that somewhat obsolete.

As for E3 overal...meh.The lack of interesting releases (aside from obvious sequels) made me think we were going to see the next gen Xbox, but instead they talked about a tablet or something.

Nintendo talked about the WiiU, and aside from Pikmin, looks to have a very underwhelming starting line up. Even the new Mario game is just a New Super Mario Bros with Yoshis. Nothing on the new Smash Bros, Metroid, 3d Mario, or Zelda. I felt that no new information was released on what the WiiU can do.

Then poor SonyCry

They talked about Vita, and somehow made it look like its success is more bleak than expected with only 6 exclusive games coming to it by years end. Then they talked about the spell book thingy, which requires three separate peripheral hardwares to run, decreasing the likelihood of it selling. Sony's future does not look good.

And....nothing from Apple.

I... solemnly agree.

Anyways, I don't think we should really call the series dead, Konami hasn't made any statement or anything saying they were completely cutting off support for DDR CS versions in the US....

....then again, we would all be in a complete state of anxiety, paranoia, and impatience if nobody dared asked Konami at IAACA about the status of the DDR US arcade scene and for them to tell us that we won't be seeing DDR X3 in America anytime soon...so it really boils down to Konami saying something on the matter or keeping us completely out of the blue until something does pop up, or nothing does, which in turn makes the game die out without them acknowledging it. Sort of like how Capcom is slowly but surely killing off Mega Man and any traces of the game in anything (games, movies, media, etc.)

No it didn't, it is still slated to be released this year, there just won't be a home console version in the US.

Why a DDR for mobile? I can't dance with an Android phone or iPad only.

DDR is not jukebeat.

Does someone know where I can find a better quality version of this first trailer for DDR 2009? I'm not really sure about it exists. Time have passed and I forgot some things.
