I noticed the song "celebrate" is REALLY off sync, or rather, it seems to start on time but immediately drift behind

That's because beware's Extreme uses the old DDRUK bumper packs, and not the official arcade data files that are available on ZIv.

True, and while it would be great if official arcade data was used, there would be a few things to work out. For one, a lot of songs in DDR EXTREME had quantization errors fixed in DDR X, along with some getting new graphics and charts, so you'd have to go and dump the data for those songs from older games, or just rechart them. Another thing is that most (if not all) simfiles have a muted portion at the beginning containing the BPM change that DDR uses to sync the rest of the chart, so the theme would have to be reworked to remove those portions and avoid the silence at the beginning, much like Curilang's themes. Finally the BGscripts would need to be reworked so that they're at the right measures on the Z-I-V simfiles.

Whoever does all this would be doing God's work, but it's definitely possible! It would make for an incredibly accurate simulation.

I've come across another little bug.

For Oni courses that have mods (for example, Trick), the mods only are applied to the P1 side. This is also the case for any custom course I insert.
Sorry If I come off as obsessed with this build, just wanted to ask if anyone else has noticed this.

Hey guys. Somewhat off-topic but I'm doing some research on DDR songs. I would like to ask what are your top 30 songs in your copy of beware's DDR Extreme simulation at the time of your access via Player's Best. BTW, if you have access to an arcade of DDR Extreme with all songs unlocked, that will also do, even better actually.
Never mind.

I think you will see better results/responses by starting a separate thread for this topic.

Hello.

I know that this message will most likely be ignored, but I couldn't help but notice that the link to download beware's DDR EXTREME in its entirety doesn't work anymore. I would appreciate if someone could update me on the situation as soon as possible, because I've been in an 'EXTREME' kinda mood lately (abysmal pun, I know).

Thank you in advance for your response. Take care, stay safe, and have a good rest of your day/night.

I believe the link I posted towards the bottom of page 12 should still be good. Let me know if it isn't. Keep in mind that the link points to an updated version that wasn't formally released by beware himself.

Thank you, gzy. I just got done testing everything after downloading the attached .zip file, and it all worked fine and dandy.

Hello everybody, I'm an old DDR Extreme player.
I've just find out this amazing theme and I would like to add records like I used to do with my Ps1 Memory Card at the time.

Is it possible to set Player 1 to save all scores (AA, AAA), like in this screenshot? Am I missing something on the settings?

https://i.ibb.co/345rqGr/Cattura.png

I also would like to play it on my 4K TV, would that be possible? Or it's better to just leave it 1200x800 pixel?
Thanks!

If you want to play in 4k you're better off going with one of the newer SM5 versions (if you can't compile from github use ITGmania or Outfox). There is a really good Extreme HD recreation theme. Beware's Extreme has the limitations of SM3.9, so it doesn't properly support higher resolutions or 16:9. It will work on a 4k display though, I play it on a 1440p display just at it's default resolution. Using the SM5 theme should take care of saved scores not displaying, too.

That's sounds cool! I'll give it a try, where can I find this Theme?
Thanks in advance

Click the green code button and choose download zip, then extract it to your themes folder in SM5.

Thanks! I tried the SM5 one, but I prefer the original feel of this Beware Stepmania Extreme 3.9

Is there any chance to get the fast and slow version of Beware?
Also when you get an "AAA" I usually hear the speaker saying "Can I call you dancing master?" And when I played I didn't hear that.

Seen this video of this guy that has all those features:
- Fast and Slow
- AAA correct announcement

Still hoping we will get a scoring system like original Ps1 Memory Cards, on this Beware Stepmania Extreme Version.
I was wondering if they could be added in future by code too. (Need to understand where to save hiscores into a local folder and output them on the Theme) that doesn't sound so easy Laughing Out Loud

Thanks in advance!

This announcer should have all the appropriate lines in the files. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/17900UlEtmlrMhsbFEfDNPpy1o-1IOt6y

For fast/slow, launch the clarity (tournament edition) EXE. I've never had issues with the announcer.
