How do you refer to the 8-panel mode of DDR? Do you say double or doubles.
DDR and Stepmania officially say Double, but most people online call it doubles.

Mmm the announcers on DDR say "Doubles Play", hence why I call it "Doubles"

I call the mode "Doubles mode", but I call the charts "Double", as in "Pluto Relinquish Challenge Double".

It's "Double mode", but when I'm talking about a set of charts I'll call them "double charts" or "doubles" for short. Even so, sometimes "doubles charts" rolls off the tongue really easily haha.

Doubles. We all grew up with the MAX announcer calling it Doubles Play so...it stuck.
Double Play doesn't give it justice either, and I would usually call a Doubles chart a....well, Doubles chart.

I've always called it doubles. It makes sense to add the plural since you're using two pads instead of one...
I used to call jumps "doubles" way back when, since they had two arrows simultaneously, but now I just call them jumps.
Now here's a debate i'd like to say without starting a new thread. Do we say "combo" or "combos"? The announcer always says combos with an "s", but we call our total combo a "Full Combo" (singular).

One is spelled right, and one is spelled wrong. I think that "Marvellous" is a spelling typo. (even my spell checker indicates it's spelled wrong).

In the case of Marvel(l)ous, both are spelt right. One is the American spelling, the other is the British spelling. Throughout DDR, the mode has been called Double and Doubles. Neither is wrong, neither is more right than the other. So whatever floats your boat.
I prefer Double
