What, because it goes fast? It's not any harder than something like Illegal Function Call or HEART BEAT FORMULA, two songs that also go fast and are upper 13s.

Illegal Function Call maybe can pass as a 14, but just maybe, because most of the song is way easy. Heart Beat Formula is a BS 13, easy and boring, nowhere near to Sakura

For the debate on SAKURA, it's honestly not that hard for a 13. Sure there are way easier 13s, but there's definitely harder ones too. Personally I've found Xenon , DROP OUT , V , and Illegal Function Call to be far more difficult than SAKURA, and that's just what I can think of off the top of my head. There'd have to be a lot of 13s bumped up to 14 if SAKURA got bumped up imo.

Based on the fact that at least i've pfcd all these songs named before on arcade (except for V oni doubles)

I'm talking about singles (maybe should have specified), so if you're thinking of all of those relative to doubles I have honestly no clue about anything harder than PARANOiA D- lmao. If you're talking singles too though, I find that while the hardest points of SAKURA are far harder than Xenon or Drop Out's hardest points, the difficulty is more consistent in Xenon and the jumps in Drop Out wear down on you a lot before the long stream at the end.
SAKURA is harder to time (especially during the slowdown) but as for just clearing (which is what I assume the ratings are mostly based on but idk) I find that the hard parts are spaced out enough that it's not a very tiring song compared to the other ones I mentioned.

RISING FIRE HAWK 15 -> 14
Pretty self explanatory. This is just an easier EoT and if you think this isn't valuable as a 14 look at Samurai Shogun vs Master Ninja / Cytokinesis.

siberite 13 -> 14
This one is a little harder than the competition it has in the same category. Idc if it's a slower song the song is not fun to play on. Pretty much on par with Electronic Dance System Music which got bumped up due to the very same reasons I would say siberite needs to be bumped up.

Vanquish The Ghost 16 -> 15
Yeah it's a little hard but it's not a 16. Since Engraved Mark / Astrogazer got bumped down this is almost exactly on par with those two and really should have stayed where it was to begin with.

CHAOS Terror-Tech Mix 16 -> 15
The gimmick has worn off. Now for it to be ranked properly.

Yes. It is that fucking difficult and those trills are REALLY brutal even for a 16. I cannot give it the same category as like POSSESSION / Boss Rush / Life is Beautiful when it has some awful trills and crossovers. Nah dawg.

EDIT: I guess after re-loading the chart it is just idk. It is BARELY a 16 due to how most of the chart itself is somewhat simple but man is it a burtal as fuck 16.

Speaking on clearing vs scoring (and singles on pad), Drop Out is just as difficult as Sakura . They're just different sets of skills. Sakura is hella streamy with a once iconic slowdown, and Drop Out is hella fast for a 13 and even has 2 baby-Possession sections. Both are worthy of being hard as balls 13s.

I understand the thought behind CHAOS Terror Tech Mix being rerated a 15, but a lot of it/the whole is based on "well once you memorize it". Therein lies the issue, which is that ratings shouldn't rely on memorizing the gimmicks and then removing entire elements of the chart/song to artificially manipulate the rating so that it benefits the people who know but greatly puts those that don't at a disadvantage.

Like, Pluto never stops being a 16 just because you know the gimmicks, it will always be a 16 because for someone playing it the first time or someone that doesn't remember the stops/bpm changes, it is as hard or harder than a handful of 16s. As for someone that's played it 50 times and learned it? A 15 without question, but it's not getting rerated because they played it 50 times and learned it.

also sakura is a 13, that doesn't change even if you're sightreading it :V
