DDR Dance Wars ps3. go.
how about noooooooooooooo. As much as I would want this game in the PS3, I don't want this game on the PS3. Take out a few key elements to the game a.k.a the whole STAMINA issue, keep the songlist as is, and we have ourselves a game.
But honestly would the general public want another DDR game? It's already been at this point if they can't even support an iOS game anymore.

What about a Dance Wars theme for SM5?
I am currently in progress and I need some bit of help.

I actually never ran into much of a problem with the stamina. Eh, maybe just me.
Anyhow, this is NOT a PS3 game. No way. If they're making a new DDR game for US console markets, let it be
1) similar to DDR X2/X3 AC or 2013 theme, and
2) have a large DLC library and have a good selection of new songs (c'mon, bring us some songs we haven't had in the US yet).
Also, keep the licenses to a minimum (DDR Universe 3 is a good reference). We don't need another DDR 2010. If you're not considering any of this, Konami, then don't even bother.

Even with Pendulum having been an option, I sssstill don't see why people get excited about content you have to pay extra for.
Tired of this "don't even bother" attitude people have when half of the "fans" refuse to acknowledge DDR II's existence (that game that already had the 2013 theme and half of the X2 soundtrack with a chuck of the X3 songs before Japan even got them).
They need better marketing strategies or something. Facebook reaches how many people tops...? Not enough to fuel the sales for a game with generic, boring box art. DDR II had some admittedly -nice- licenses to draw new people in, but they didn't even make use of that until you looked on the back of the box or something.
Dance Wars -just... to stay on topic- was another game that was almost swept under a rug until the FB page brought it up before sweeping it under classroom edition. Eghghgh. I wish there was some red flag we could've watched for; sort of like when you hear an arcade is going to sell their Bemani game, you round up all your friends to throw money at it. But, DW's demise was hidden behind a really cute event, and had I effing seen it coming... probably would've caved for Pendulum at least, because that was smart of them. ._.; The one girl whose songs were pulled off immediately after being available was probably a sign, but it was just... weird at the time.

If this was on the PS3/360 I would totally play the shit out of it (aside from the whole stamina issue, I have enough stamina problems on my own).
As far as I know, this is the first DDR where online interaction is vital, though. So it might not work as well on those markets because not everyone has Xbox Live (at least, I didn't until fairly recently, and now I have a very faulty internet connection).

Optimistically speaking, maybe we'd have fewer errors if we were all using the same console, instead if iThis, iThat, iThingWhereItWorksPerfectly iLag iCrashThisGame etc. Given one of DW's turn offs were when people had so many issues playing it or keeping up with everyone else's skill while your combo broke and destroyed the entire score.
Which is another thing no one complains about often because they're too busy griping about stamina; what was everyone's take on the combo bonus? It made beating boss song users a blasted nightmare for me. o_o; Maybe if it was there but less than two hundred thousand bonus points.

The combo thing pissed me off as well. There were a ridiculous amount of times where I couldn't get any of the jumps, thanks to the "pad" not wanting to register properly. Sometimes I could still get by if the other persons' score was that low, but other times? I would be forced to miss ONE jump...and lose. So that, the stamina (although this annoyed me the least), and the inconsistent timing made me completely give up on this game. And again, I just don't understand why they can't just release a DDR game for the consoles instead of releasing them on the iOS systems. To me it just defeats the purpose.

The whole combo bonus thing reminded me of osu! - miss a step somewhere in the middle, and you're basically screwed.
I would definitely like to see parts of Dance Wars implemented in a future console game. It couldn't really be exactly the same though, because the always-online thing sucks and I'm sure there are tons of people without online capabilities who would want to play it. I dunno, it would be hard to do it well :/

Quite frankly, the only things I thought worth retaining from Dance Wars are:
-The general aesthetic (and even then, probably not since it'd get a backlash from critics for "trying too hard to be urban")
-The music selections (and not the steps; the only reason some of those songs are coming to Crusaders is because they have brand new and doubles charts to overshadow the others)
-The event system (which they really should do with some of the other BEMANI CS titles, imo. It helps make the game feel fresh and hip for a while and makes it feel immersive like the arcade versions)

Please remember not to bump month / year old threads on the forum, especially if you don't have anything necessarily good to contribute to the topic. Yeah it sucked that it only lasted a full year but it had a good run. If only they kept the servers active so that we could at the very least still play the game, or rather created an offline version for it.Post #1033 · Posted at 2014-12-10 07:05:55pm 9.3 years ago

You would have to crack the IPA somehow to get it to run on a (jailbroken) iDevice.
