I know how you feel all too well. I'm still waiting for when mask requirements are abolished before I even use one because I don't want to faint after playing DDR for about three minutes!

...which reminds me--I bought a USB foam pad from Another Castle in Lynnwood awhile back. Its receptors SUCK in gameplay, but work fine everywhere else. I tried using it back in 2019 when I first got it and saw how bad it was. I then tried using it again earlier this year and died trying to do the opening of HAVE YOU NEVER BEEN MELLOW . Now I'm trying to find a better pad--a Cobalt Flux one, specifically, or anything that's not foam so I can try to emulate the arcade experience without leaving home--but 1: I'm not made of at least $350, which was the price without shipping of the cheapest CF pad I saw on eBay at the time; and 2: CF shut down in 2011, which I learned ten years too late!

So I need some advice on something. I want to continue using my Wii/GCN dance pad and I got two options. I can either get my Wii hooked up to our HDMI TV or buy a Wii/GCN adapter so that I can use the dancepad on a laptop with Stepmania. The latter is harder because most listings I found are import only and I ain't shelling out a good bundle for something that I "hope" will work.

I see options for an adapter that plugs in directly at the A/V port and has an HDMI out or a box that I can connect the RCA cables in and have HDMI as an output. I don't really care for upscaling, but I just want to know which one won't affect the response times.

My primary concern is checking if any of the above solutions will introduce any lag to inputs. I'll probably move on to checking for quality from there as the quality of the above two may be questionable due to their cheap prices. Thanks in advance to those who will chip in with their opinions on this matter.

I've been known to have some pretty weird dreams, but this one might just be the weirdest one I've ever had. In this dream, I was watching a game show that was billed as a reboot of 1 vs. 100. (For those unfamiliar, 1 vs. 100 was a game show where a civilian contestant was asked various trivia questions for a monetary prize. While that was happening, a wall of 100 celebrities answered the same question, and any celebrity that answered incorrectly was removed from the panel.) The host was Nick Jonas and the announcer was Andy Richter. It started off with a trivia portion similar to the source material. Except instead of having just one contestant, there were seven contestants working together as a team. During the trivia portion, the team had to correctly answer as many questions as they could. But once they got an incorrect answer, the round stopped and the shitshow began. After the round ended, a giant conveyor belt was deployed. The celebrities on the "100" side that also got the question wrong were to be walking across the conveyor belt. But as they were walking, various stuff happened to them, such as their outfits inflating or having chocolate sauce dumped on them. Once that ended, the camera panned over to Kermit the Frog in a hot tub. Kermit said that he was taking over as host, but Nick Jonas wasn't buying it. So, a curtain behind the hot tub opened, and behind it was a giant robot Kangaskhan (a Pokémon, for those unfamiliar). Kermit was then thrown back to Kangaskhan, and Nick Jonas said: "Kangaskhan, take care of Kermit for me." The Kangaskhan then ripped Kermit the Frog to shreds. The dream ended after Kermit said: "Fuck you, Nick Jonas."

You know... today was a rough day. Had a guy collapse in the gym during my class. I’m thankful he’s alright but in my field this happens too often. Life’s a scary thing. So much can happen in a blink of an eye.

In other news, does anyone else find themselves being really impatient about things lately? I can’t seem to patiently wait for videogame releases, news and updates on games ( looking at you Ultimate mobile Dance Dance Revolution) and for this pandemic to be over.

Yeah, I ordered an LTEK pad on April 2nd (I'm up to 320 and told my wife this is my version of buying a treadmill) and despite knowing that it takes a month to get it and people say they got it about 5 days after their order finally shipped I'm still checking my email every couple hours to see if it shipped yet.

Also, you're in the USA? Since we have a president that ISN'T a nutcase and we have vaccines for COVID, and we're slowly but surely starting to get rid of it, no, 2021 cannot be worse than 2020.

2021 personally for me is shaping up to be worse than 2020, but I can't say for sure since we're in month 4 of 12. At least Prince Philip finally kicked the fucking bucket.

Only thing that sucks about that is that he didn't wait until he hit 100 so we all got a day off, because even in death the royals are selfish useless cunts.

Covid isn’t the only issue. We’ve had like 5 unarmed kids murdered by police in the past week and nearly 150 mass shootings since the start of the year. Yeah, this year is a damn disaster, and it looks like we’re never going to have any meaningful gun laws. 2021 is shaping up to be a top contender for sure.

Around me, just a year ago, was a flourishing community of ddr cabs, now we only have 2 left, our dave and buster's ace and a pristine quality extreme over at a bowling alley (that just got bought, so that might go away too).

I toured a new arcade that opened hoping to find some of the old cabs there (or at least some new interesting ones) but I was HIGHLY disappointed [even with my low expectations]

Anybody else love Discord but are slightly saddened that it's kind of killing off wiki/forum culture for obscure games like rhythm games and fighting games? I know I run one, but it's pretty lame that most people just say "bro join this Discord" in response to a lot of questions about them. Like, I just wanna know how to play this character in a fighting game, I don't want to join a social circle to do it.

Then you join the server and it's just slurs, in-jokes you don't get, and porn of the waifu bait characters. F for a slowly dying era.
