As there's mere minutes for me until 2019, let me run through my top 10 favourite games I played this year. They don't have to have come out this year, I just had to have discovered it. One game per franchise.

Alrighty fam, here's a lengthy story I'm more than happy to share, and I wanna see where you guys stand with this. All the names in the story are changed to protect privacy.

Story
So me, my wife, one of my friends that I usually play DDR with (I'll call him Dee) and 3 other people are around the DDR A cabinet at a Dave and Busters, and it was during my 6th set that I was playing versus with someone that Dee knew.

A woman decided to record us playing during the set without permission, and Dee had to step in, and told the woman (gonna call her Snitch) kindly to not record without our prior permission (it's listed under the Dave and Busters' House Rules under Filming/Photography). Snitch then proceeds to tell Dee that even if the recording did not show our faces, why would she still need to ask permission before recording. After Dee explained to her that just because she is recording other people playing, depending on how she recorded the footage, there are other people around the cabinet that are either spectating or are taking a break, my wife being included in the former. She then proceeds to walk away and after some time, the "fiance" of Snitch then proceeds to interrupt Dee's set, with a Bud Light beer bottle opened, and ends up spilling a bit of the beer bottle on the pads.

I had to tell my wife to get security, while me, Dee and one other player had to tell Snitch's "fiance" to get off the pads because he was spilling liquid onto the machinery, but he refused to budge and proceeded to verbally harrass us, calling us "sweaty no-life nerds who just hogs the machine all day so no one gets to play" berated us to "get a job" (in reality, majority of us do have a working job) and complains about why is it that we can't afford to get our own machines and stay at home instead.

DnB Security then arrived to de-escalate the situation quickly, and we explained the entire story over to security while the "fiance" would not let us tell our side of the story/talk over and shouted his side of the argument so we don't get to say a word. I had to tell him straight up, "Please let the gentlemen speak" over and over, so that he can shut up and let Dee speak and let security speak. Security then said to our little group to let other people take turns and if this is ends up becoming a problem again, they can put up a request to remove the DDR machine.

As soon as I finished my 7th set, Snitch decided to come back and berated us about how we're not being considerate. Everyone in the group, especially Dee and my wife, did not know that she wanted to use the DDR machine to play, either by herself or with a friend, because she never asked us directly if she wanted to play.

In previous instances, people of all ages, including young kids and even parents, asked me or if I'm with a group of people if they wanted to play DDR, we would be compliant about it and we would explain to them how the game works if we so happen to be either resting or someone else is using the machine so that they know how it works.

From my wife's side of the story, she escorted Dee out because he had to catch the Metro and the "fiance" was waiting downstairs, so they had to take an alternate route to get to the station.

Fast forwarding to outside Dave and Busters after our 8 sets, Snitch then proceeded to stalk me and my wife in the parking lot, until we drove all the way out of the parking. Snitch then proceeds to record us having a conversation inside our own car (with windows closed) while we were waiting for the stoplight just outside of the lot.

My thoughts
- (Moreso aimed for the general public who don't read house policy/rules) Just because some of us play DDR at a high level doesn't necessarily equate to recording us without permission. We don't know you, you don't know us, the least you can do is ASK. As mentioned before, WE EVEN HAD KIDS AND/OR THEIR PARENTS ASK US IF THEY WANTED TO PLAY AND WE WOULD BE OKAY IT 100%.
- If they had questions, we're not snobby assholes, just ask us "how does DDR work" or somewhere along those lines and some of us will be glad to explain. My wife was open to answering questions when I was playing.
- Snitch could've asked any of us directly, along the lines of "Hey, is it okay if we play DDR?" and we would've said okay.
- She assumed we were having a tournament of sorts, in which we really weren't. We were all playing just for fun/score improvement.
- The only thing she ever done was flip out her phone as if she was impressed with our set and started recording like some people that stop by and are curious at how people are so good at rhythm games.
- The fact that she stalked us in the parking lot after our sets is very petty and quite frankly, rude. My wife is still paranoid that she recorded our license plate and she's having a hard time calming down.

If anyone is curious as to why our group, or more specifically me and my wife, are not okay with recording without authorized consent, we have had, in the past, dealt with videos on our Facebook feeds surfacing with horrible captions and comments about our general appearance and how shitty we played DDR. i.e. One of the videos was titled: "Look at this fat f**k thinking he's cool playing video games"

Have you contacted the police or the Dave & Buster's Amusement Manager (possibly even corporate) about this? I'd have those fuckers nerfed asap preferrably arrested, both the unruly couple & the security guard

Also, which Dave & Buster's was this at? *Supernanny theme plays in the distance*

In terms of contacting corporate, they're closed until Monday, but we'll contact them about it ASAP.

As for the location, it's the Hollywood/Highland one.

Ah yes, the classic response to "you have to wait for your turn" from entitled, impatient randos, even though this concept applies to literally every single arcade game ever made

Honestly, kudos to you, your wife and your friend for how you handled that. You've got the patience of several saints.

Also nice to know the "get a life" insults are still around in 2019. I can't believe people have yet to realize in order to play arcade games, you NEED MONEY AND THEREFORE PROBABLY ALREADY HAVE A JOB.

Wow, what you and your group had to put up with was just awful. None of you deserved such pettiness from these hypocrites who would record you without asking and stalk you in the parking lot and still calls you "no-life nerds". I hope things get done when you reach corporate about these bullies, because none of that was okay. I hope your wife feels calmer soon and nothing bad happens with the footage and all.

Also, who on the entire planet would actually be okay with unauthorized recordings... all they do is piss people off anyway.

One question, if I may ask... did security do anything about the fact that Snitch's fiance clearly consumed alcohol and wanted to play DDR without waiting his turn, when there are warnings about that?

Not gonna lie, of all the instances that has happened while playing DDR, this was the first time that it got escalated that far up. If any footage does go up on social media, we'll try to figure out ways to basically take them down, because it really is uncalled for and said footage(s) was all recorded without prior permission/authorized request from us anyway.

As for your question, security did jack shit about that (from my perspective), considering that (I would assume) he got the bottle from inside the restaurant/bar area. I'm hoping that whatever security footage they have will help us in our favor, cuz that's just generally rude behavior from the pair, and I'm sure this isn't the first time that people have gone up on the DDR pads just to mock me personally, or someone else that's playing solo.

It might be worth checking Instagram to see if their video is on there. A lot of these people will leave their location settings on (wasting their battery, but that's not my problem) so when they record shit and post it, it'll show up as being at DnB's Hollywood or wherever else this sort of thing happens. Instagram tends to be the most common, Snapchat is too but that tends to be a bit harder to track down. If you're able to find it, report it for harassment.
