Dude if I were you I'd STFURN!

I've been feeling a bit mixed.

On one hand, my best friend Mari and I have been hanging out and chatting more often. I went to go visit her and her family on her birthday last month, and then that same week we celebrated by going to Galloping Ghost Arcade. I think I've been really making her happy, because she always has this huge smile now whenever she sees me, and we always give eachother hugs when we say goodbye.

But things have been starting to suck bigtime for Mari back at school.

Remember that big ol' vent that went on during all of last month about how my Mari fell in love with a new guy from her school, Rich? Well, her friends convinced her not to date him, and ever since things have been kinda bad for her. The guy pretty much shortwired when she told her that she wasn't interested, and now he's apparently been going around bullying her and her friends: He makes fun of them, cusses them out, shoves them around, and gets his clique in on it, too.

Also, Mari found out that Rich was already dating somebody when they both confessed to each other, but the girl he was dating was slowly becoming disinterested. He also was hitting on other girls at the school, too. Based on that, Mari says she thinks Rich was worried he'd face a break-up with his current girlfriend, so he started looking around for new ones as a failsafe.

Either way, the guy really bugs me. Again, I haven't met him in person, but if the description Mari and her friends have been giving me is accurate, then he's just a straight-up scumbag. He's only thinking about himself by bullying others when he doesn't get what he wants.
Honestly, whoever's dating him right now, I hope she breaks up with him: They deserve much better than what he can offer.

I've also been kinda panicky because I feared what could've happened to Mari if they did start dating. I've heard that Rich is pretty strong because he's an athlete, but Mari and I are both stringbeans: We can barely lift weights and we have no stamina whatsoever. Rich could've seriously hurt Mari if he ever lost his temper around her. I don't think I could forgive myself for that if it ever happened, and I'm so glad that it (probably) never will.

I hope something happens to get Rich to stop all this crap. Maybe a teacher will find out and report him on it. A jerk like him should be put in his place.

Sorry for ranting again. I just need a good spot to vent about this whole dilemma. This is the only forum I really use anymore. Posting it on social media would be a terrible idea, so this is my only place to go.

To NuVirus and Quickman, stay safe. Sometimes I wish I was as gutsy as you guys are, moving out of the house and living alone. But living out of your paternal home doesn't really happen here until you get married, and that's only if you didn't have your own room. Our culture just dictates that we stick together, heck, my family lives in a somewhat big house divided among my father and his sibling's families (grandparents ancestral home in short).

To GadgetJax: I don't mean to pull a Shawn Mendes but sometimes I don't get how girls fall for these vain asshole-ish guys. I had a female friend back in college who told me that all her boyfriend wants to do is play DOTA instead of hanging out with her. And then my cousin (already has a son from a first affair) dated a bad boy and my aunts and uncles are dropping hints to her that he was quite the asshole and not that much good looking than the things he looks down on.

Nah, don't feel bad for pulling a Shawn Mendes. That's all fine.

But believe me, Mari hates so-called 'bad boys'. She always complains about snobby, jerkish people she's known over the years and says she'd never want to date one.

Thing is, when Mari first met Rich, the description that she and her friends gave me of him was that he was supposedly this really friendly guy who stuck up for others and always kept a promise.

Also, Rich is best friends with somebody that Mari already knew, Alisia, and Alisia always made it seem like he was friendly. Alisia is one of those really dainty, sunshine-and-rainbows kinds-of-people who just wants to be with people who are bubbly and happy all the time. So if Alisia of all people thought Rich was nice, then she must be telling the truth.

My guess is that Rich constantly acted kind and friendly to get girls to like him, and it ended up working on Mari. When he fell in love with her and she said 'no', he must've figured 'd'oh, kindness doesn't actually get girls to like you', so he dropped the act. Now he just goes around school acting however the heck he wants.

Actually, now that I think about it, that just makes me hate him even more. It's almost like manipulation in a way. Can you just imagine what it would be like if you dated somebody you thought was a regular ol' Johnny B. Goode for a whole year, then one day you saw him around his other peers and he was acting like a total douchebag? You would feel like you were being lied to, I bet.

Thank God this fiasco never escalated further. I'm so done with this guy.

I hope I'm not seeing anything the wrong way. Personally, I'd never wanna be with somebody like that.

That is manipulative behavior on his part at the very least, and at worst could be an indicator of socipathic behavior.

Is it possible for you to move out, Quickman? If so you should tell your dad to fuck off and leave. If you can't then I dunno what else to say or do to help encourage you. It's very hard and difficult to be in the situation you are in. So I know your pain all too well.

Can't move out. No money. No jobs right now. No family members that can help.
