UPDATE: DJ Hero's competition (Scratch: The Ultimate DJ) has given out five preliminary songs from the game, these songs are:
"Flashing Lights" - Kanye West
"Interglactic" - Beastie Boys
"Slacker" - Tech N9ne
"Don't Sweat The Technique" - Eric B. & Rakim
"Let's Get It Started" - The Black Eyed Peas
(the ones in bold are favorites for me)
The company also has stated that they will have more artists including The Gorillaz, Deltron 3030, Nelly, and Run DMC, as well as music from the upcoming solo album from Beastie Boy Mixmaster Mike, who is also providing creative and technical support for the game.
...So far Scratch has 1, DJ Hero 0 (for me). >_>
Whichever that has pendulum's music will be the one I will buy, that's my criteria "Flashing Lights" - Kanye West

OOOHHH Pendulum! I know some of their songs! They were featured in Need for Speed: Undercover (own the game and my favorite song from them is "9000 Miles" )
Yea, one of these games MUST include this band, that would be a sure buy for me...
...but what would REALLY get me worked up would have to be if they include some of Joe Hahn's (the Asian turntable guy from Linkin Park) music in the game, if they do, i will most definitely buy whichever game has it .
BUMP: check this picture out...
This MAY give us a clue as to what the controller might look like (Using this reference from the GH guitar controller that can be used inside the game if you choose it).

3 buttons? No simple way for the turntable to rotate (unless the buttons rotate...which would be pretty impractical)? I don't get it.

Well it looks pretty slick.
But yeah, I have no idea how it's going to work.

Wouldn't it be kind of like a Guitar Hero/GF setup? Hold the right button then scratch at appropriate time? The things bulky enough that the buttons could rotate.

You guys are thinking like it's beatmania...this is a "turntable" hero game. You press and hold the corresponding button and move up or down a little bit to "strum" the record. This also works for left-handed players...If you rotate the record to the other side. It makes it a little bit more realistic IMO.//

Well, got some news from Kotaku.com
Apparently, the pictures of the concept controller were only showing ONE part of the controller (that part obviously being the turntable part) The controller has an attachment which includes a crossfader, a button to activate "start power", and other buttons included...
Game play is almost comparable to GH, however instead of five buttons scrolling down you have three instead. When a button comes down, you have options of pressing the button, holding it, and turning it to the direction it specifies. You can also use the crossfader and other buttons to make special DJ effects as your holding down the button.
The first couple of "songs" were released within this month's Game Informer...
...and i quote "songs" because they don't even look like songs, more so, they look like song battles (Song vs. Song).
So could there be standalone songs in the game? Who knows, but as of now, those are some of the songs that are going to be used within the game.
Can't put up the link because i am in school right now, but it's pretty much the most latest news about DJ Hero (it's on the first page if you go to the site right now).
DJ Hero Gameplay screenshots
LOL so much like GH only there's three buttons and you move the turntable a certain way (left and right? what? I thought it was suppose to go up and down if i know my turntable features). DJ Shadow looks like a villian in the game or something.
DJ Hero Trailer
Gwen Stefani's Hollaback Girl? *face palm* wait...it's remixed with that one song from Rick James...huh...unexpected
The venues look nice + the characters look to be fully customizable (girl with angel wings, etc.) Not bad Waiting for more songs to be listed though >_>

oh hell yes! more peripherals to take up valuable space in my room!! It'll go right next to my BeatmaniaUS controllers and under the Rock Band drums. It will keep the other controllers company while they all collect dust.
pfft like I'm buying that game any way. :v
Beatmania bundled with the controller cost 70 dollars. Guitar Hero with the controller cost around 80 dollars (can't find the receipt). This is either a visible sign of the recession or Activision milking it for all it's worth.

GHIII was 90USD (PS3/360), GHWT (PS3/360/Wii) bundle was 100USD. This IS Activision milking at its best...I'm surprised GHWT stand-alone is still 60USD brand new (50USD used) with GH5 around the corner.
