Hey there; it seems like the 2ndMIX Mode videos that used to be on the X3 Simfiles page are just gone now... I was able to look through my old files and find them, but I did come to notice that some of the songs, like the Konami Originals, didn't have their videos uploaded to begin with, when those definitely exist.

Is there a good rip of these anywhere? Are there any good video resources for other games as well?

They’re in the pack but not the individual downloads.

I just downloaded the pack, and... I don't see that they are? Are they in a certain folder in the pack?

To be clear, I'm talking about the songs from 1st and 2ndMIX that are playble in 2ndMIX mode; I remember there was an video pack downloadable at one point, but it was also missing the videos for songs like MAKE IT BETTER.

I remember there being both 4:3 and 16:9 versions of the videos as well.

I noticed they're in m2v format. Is that what it is when ripped straight from the AC data?

I haven't gone through all of them, but as far as I can tell these do line up to the simfiles at 0.000 with no modification.

I put these in the song folders and did reload songs and courses and they don't show up. I've tried with random backgrounds on, dancers on, nothing. Any ideas?

Did you add them to the simfile?

None of the simfiles here have the videos in the .SM file and I've never had to add one before so I don't understand why that would matter but I'll give it a shot.

Edit: Yeah that didn't work either.

They will need to be converted to .avi format first though.

That would certainly explain it, thanks.

No idea. I didn't have to convert it to avi. Maybe you're using an old version of StepMania.

Personally, I'd rather have them in the original format when possible, especially since I've seen a few of them padded at the end, or adding in the audio of the music when it isn't needed.

It can be played in the original m2v format. You just have to change file extension from ".m2v" to ".mpg" (and then add them in the editor if necessary)

I tested this on SM 5.0.12, but it should obviously work on 5.1 and OutFox.

And I'm saying I didn't have to change the extension...

Nah I’m just using a different fork than you.
