I did a few more things, the background of the menu and an animation that accompanies the background that I could not add well because I do not know how to handle lua, bg of time and effect

I have a few non-English songs and for some reason it's having trouble showing some letters (see below). I remember back in SM 3.9 I can add a set of PNG font files for these - how do I go about doing that in this version?

I fixed any issues I had with fonts in any theme by adding the fonts from the Outfox fallback folder to my main install of Stepmania fallback theme (since I have sync issues with Outfox). It was particularly an issue for Korean.

Hello!

First time installing some themes in my SM 5.0.12.

I have issues with my DanceStages and Character installation in my SM. It seems that the theme graphics are not showing correctly and it is just a black background. I already download the latest Theme and also the DanceStages and Character Files. Please check the image link here: https://imgur.com/a/xbfKXcg

Did you select the dancers and stages as your background in options? There are theme specific settings in there (I think under theme) and it’s at the top.

do you have the bone files for the characters as well

I finally found the problem! It's kinda weird but I'll fix it.

Edit: It happens with new users in the theme so, wait a little more for the fix.

Edit2: If you choose a character in PlayerOptions the problem gets fixed, but I'll check it.

THANK YOU CURILANG!! this post alone pointed me in the right direction. its been almost 5 years since i last played stepmania, i saw all the advancements and crazy themes and decided to dive back in with your A20 theme edit and stumbled on this A3 one!

I tried several different versions of stepmania/outfox and couldn't get dancestages to work. after digging (the lack of the original nextphase thread threw me off) i learned all about what happened with the bad actor and the XX debacle, but still couldn't figure out why it wouldn't work with this theme . i tried doing everything from scratch again with the same result and was ready to call it for the night

finally i decided to re-check this thread and there it was, turns out i just needed to select a character and stage manually in the player profile options!

I just want to say it seriously warms my heart knowing the DDR scene is still thriving the work you all have done is phenomenal and makes the dream of arcade-quality experiences from my bedroom a reality!!

Soooo....

When I was testing my new L-Tek Pad earlier, the DanceStages and Characters worked for some reason. I guess shutting down my PC kinda make it work lol.

As for requests, jukebox mode please?

SuperNOVA 2 scoring (the actual money score, not the grades) doesn’t work on Outfox on Linux. During gameplay it scores using Extreme money score then shows a converted SN2 score on the results screen.

Unless there is a setting in the options I’m missing (I even went back to the default theme to look around there as it has more of the settings available) I think this one aspect is broken on Outfox, again on Linux I don’t know if the Windows version has the same behavior.

I have the same issue on Windows. I'm using Outfox version Alpha date-20220327.

thats an issue that is already addressed. We are still investigating on what is causing that problem, because it only happens with outfox. We'll update update it as soon as we find a fix for that, sorry for the problems that this may cause.

THEME UPDATE: 20220512

Update highlights:

- Added textures from the DDR A3 improved textures and BGanimations by Luza94, thank you so much for you contributions <3
- Added animated BG for the all menus (its a bit choppy but it works)
- Simple mode now effect the combo animation
- Fixed some instances that Enciso's characters wont work properly (note: when you use the "random" feature with the characters, it'll not show the cut-ins, this was changed due to a bug related to that... we'll try to get a fix on the near future).
- added some optimizations and "under the hood" changes.

PS: sadly, we may have to slow down the updates for some time, that's because me and Curilang have some IRL stuff that we need to get done, but when that's done, we'll get back at it again.
