[SM 5.1-new / OutFox LTS and Alpha V] DDR A3 Theme

This is a very small thing, but I notice that when I move the selection to highlight the third song in each row the song in the very top left corner of the screen—above the song info—disappears when it feels like it should remain visible until it would actually be off screen. I tried to screen cap the issue, but my computer is doing something weird and only giving me a white screen with the "online" and "event mode" text at the bottom whenever I try to capture.

That happens because the Ace song wheel is coded with duct tape and rubber bands. It’s not actually something Stepmania is designed to do and something some talented people figured out how to do. This is actually better than how it used to be, in older versions of this song wheel you would end up with the first row of songs not lining up right, and this one disappearing song is a result of fixing that.

I just noticed something when playing that I didn't see before. I was getting the Battery Clear lamp on the difficulty select screen instead of standard clear lamp. It turns out that the files "ClearedNoFCBatteryLives.png" and the "ClearedNoFCLifeBar.png" files in the folder "Graphics\_shared\grade hex" have their names swapped. Switching the names around fixed the problem.

So I'm coming back to Stepmaina after a while and am using the new Stepmaina build of 5.1 which was last updated last month on the 25th I believe! I have Curling's theme up and running. But Enciso's Characters and Dance Stages aren't working for some reason, all I get is a black screen. Am I the only one having this problem, I feel like I'm the only one having this problem Should I just switch over to Supernovas characters?

I know older versions of Stepmaina 5 had a folder inside of the User Data folder, but I don't have that with the new version of Stepmaina 5.1, I checked a whole bunch of times to see if it'd pop up and it doesn't.

It depends on the version of the Dancers and Stages that you're using. Next Phase is the only one currently supported as it is the one on Encisso0720's Github as is on the O.P.

They should be in the "Characters" and "DanceStages" (not "SNCharacters") folders respectively inside the root folder of your Stepmania install.

Yeah I got that, but I don't have an install folder for 5, The 5.1 I'm using is from n00b_saib0t's post on page 9 and that just has an EXE along with everything else inside of the program folder. I don't have a root Stepmaina 5 folder. I thought one would pop up when I opened the game but one doesn't show up in my Appdata.

Would it be ok to simply copy the 5.1 folder into the User Date>Appdata folder?

Locallow
Roaming and I'm not sure which I should put the folder in if I were to

If the program you are talking about is the Uninstall.exe file in the folder that IS your root folder for StepMania. Put the "Characters" and "DanceStages" folders there.

It may not look right because I'm using an alternate file manager called Directory Opus.

I never installed Stepmaina 5 period. I simply downloaded the 5.1 version of Stepmaina that n00b_saib0t posted before on page nine. Within that download of 5.1 it's just the updated version of 5 with an exe and no uninstall. When I go to my app data folder and look, there's no root folder of stepmaina 5 like the old version. But I get a black screen because of Enciso's Characters and Dance Stages not working.

I see the photo you posted. The "Stepmania 5.1" folder in that screenshot IS the root folder. The one you downloaded has a "portable.ini" file in that folder which tells Stepmania to put all save data in the "Save" folder. The "Characters" and "DanceStages" folders go into the same folder as the "portable.ini" file.

Yeah, "root directory" doesn't mean "a directory called root", it means "the starting directory". Root as in the origin of something. You can put StepMania in literally any folder you want. If you called you StepMania folder "DDR" and put all the files in there then that would be the root directory. If you called it "PlayStation 5" and put the files in there, it's still the root directory.

Also, the download I posted was before razorblade posted his. The one you are using will work, but it's out of date. You should download the one he posted, also on page 9, literally the post after mine on that page.

In Curling's theme I have the gameplay background set to DanceStages. Honestly not sure what's causing them not to show up

Try setting Background mode to off.

Yeah, that did nothing. Honestly getting kind of frustrating since nothing is working. I did a fresh download of your newest SM 5 https://www.dropbox.com/s/16prwjkgmtfktvb/SM5.1_20220616.zip?dl=0 Once it's extracted to its folder, I go inside of it and extract Curling's theme into the theme folder which works and then I extract Encisso's Characters and DanceStages into the Stepmaina 5.1 folder and get nothing

Honestly it'd be cool if one of you could pm drop an SM with the theme and Encisso's characters fully working but considering the clustercluck that happened before leading to all sorts of drama, I doubt that'd be allowed

Just annoying that downloading the game and doing something as simple as dragging the folders into the game gets me jack when everything else is working to a T besides this one thing

Sometimes it's the simple things that get things to work. So in my song options it was set to default but when I changed the stage select to random it worked and then when I flipped it back to default, it's working again

Currently using Stepmania 5.1b2 and 5.0.12.
I got blocked at Login screen every time, even ESC key also doesn't work either.
Any solutions?

During the gameplay of a song with video on the replicant stages and X2 Movie stages, shows a black screen and the movie video doesn't show. Any solution?

I was beginning to think this was just a problem with my setup. Definite +1 here.

Hello there!
I am currently working on a SDVX Booth (For my Stepmania Game which I will make it to next gen) and Vivid Wave theme, which is styled as DDR A3.

REASON:
I saw this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zu7E1_wHxNE), and thought to myself:
"Hey, this one is still W.I.P. and it's still in W.I.P. after 3 years. Maybe I can complete it and style it as DDR A3."
And that's how I started this project.
