Introduction Thread

Hey everyone! I'm FrozenGlacier, and I'm a rhythm game player from Australia. I began my rhythm game journey when I was around 8, with DDR being the first rhythm game I played and still love today.

I like playing DDR (generally around level 9-11 on the new scale and the occasional 12), StepMania (I make and play stepcharts I barely pass on pad ), and the occasional game of Osu or Cytus. I make the occasional simfile in my spare time (I'm not the best at making them ).

I have played other rhythm games like Deemo, Beatmania IIDX and Groove Coaster, though I'm a complete newbie at those games.

When I'm not playing rhythm games, I like coding, playing chess and other games, and going to school (but only for about 3 to 4 months, yay!!)

Hello, my name is Rumia! I'm a long-time rhythm game player and newly realized dance game player in British Columbia, Canada. As a kid I played a lot of Stepmania on keyboard back around 8-9 years ago and closely followed the In The Groove community then. Due to personal circumstances and changing interests I stopped for a while, but I recently had my interest renewed, and this spring I started going to the arcade to play on pad. I'm still learning, I'm around almost halfway up the difficulty ladder, but I'm really enjoying myself, and I'm happy to finally have a foot (ha) in these games I've always looked up to.

I'm not a big socializer so I won't have a lot of presence, but I look forward to meeting everyone!

I'm called ichigokurosaki1991!! I'm a Retro Gaming Player/Collector, DDR/ITG/PIU Dancer, & A Pinballer! I'm also an Otaku (Anime/Manga Fan) as well as a Hatsune Miku/Vocaloid Fan! I also attend Anime Conventions in Texas and Louisiana and even also attend Retro Gaming/Pinball Expos as well. I also like to listen to J-Pop/J-Rock music and even some Anime/Video Game Music as well. I also like to travel around U.S.A. just to look for Retro Arcades/Barcades/Pinball Museums/Pinball Parlors and look for places to play DDR twice a year.

I just got registered onto ZIV 3 years ago. I like playing DDR and I first learned to play that game when I was 12 years old. I also liked other music games like BeatMania, Pop'n Music (First I tried was Pop'n Music 14 Fever was at Planet Zero Anime Center in Houston, TX.), GuitarFreaks, DrumMania, Pump It Up, ParaParaParadise (First I tried was the 2ndMix at Planet Zero Anime Center in Houston, TX), & In The Groove. I used to live in Houston, Spring, & Humble-Atascocita Areas, but now, I reside in Kingwood where every weekends, I hang around at Swords & Superheroes. Now, this is a cool site where I submit DDR records. Anyway, how's every one of y'all doing?

My name is Laby aka Labyrinth, I'm 21 and I live partly in Penzance, in the UK and in Reims, in France.
I've been playing StepMania since December 2015 and started playing DDR in July 2016.

I've lurked for too long, so might as well introduce myself now

I'm talkion (I shorten it to tak on a lot of places). I loved DDR to death as a kid and got back into it through Ace in April, which led me to communities like Ziv here! I've also played Jubeat and Dancerush in terms of other BEMANI games.

Besides rhythm games, I enjoy following PC hardware and building and drawing / graphic design.

I've also been lurking too much lol
I'm murk. I play a lot of SDVX and some pop'n but not crazy skilled at either really. I played DDR a ton years ago and have been nostalgic for it ever since all the cabs near me have been either sold or thrown out. It's a bit far to the nearest D&B for Ace and I'm also lucky enough to have some other bemani games in that range.... I've yet to meet any other bemani fans in Florida though. Still hoping eventually we'll get a R1 over here...

hey, i'm pointyEyewear. i like dance dance revolution and stepmania. i got into it when i was around 3 or 4 years old with my first game being a bootleg copy of dance dance revolution extreme 2. (we couldn't afford that much original stuff back then) and then when i saw a video of stepmania showing lots and lots of custom-made paranoia songs, i got into stepmania. i mean, the possibilities were endless with that thing. years later i got into making charts and downloading them, which led me here. after some years of just lurking i decided to make an account, since this is my first post.

Hi, my name is Chorozred908, I'm 18 years old, and I'm new to this website. My favorite color is Red and I'm may be new to Dance Dance Revolution but not Stepmania. And also, I have Autism. Dun dun duuun!

I come here to hangout but also needed help some things that's related to Stepmania and I know that you guys are probably going to say, "Why don't you post yours on their website? ". Yes, I did register their website earlier in last year to post something but it won't allow me to and now I can't log in; even I tried to sent the forgotten email, it don't show up; it's like happen to Yahoo when their Sign Up Helper decided to not sent me a specific email when I forgot a password to their website . To be honest, This website seen to be a great website to have a simfiles (the song bitmap) to add it into Stepmania. AND........this also straight up talking about the rhythm game, including those games from KONAMI.

Mainly, I was purpose to introduce myself to Stepmania's website but there's something wrong with a website from there and I can't "re-register" due to spammers maxing out their CPU. If you have any questions about me, please tell me and I'll answer for you about me.

I'm a girl, 25 years old at the time of this post, and live in Milwaukee, WI.
Mostly interested in Bemani games; SDVX & jubeat especially.

I don't know how to do any online stuff... sorry. Up till now I only got to play once a year on the free-play cabs at the local anime convention (the only real reason for me to go anymore, I don't... really watch anime...) and so I will need to learn how to do online stuff and save my scores or I will cry lmao. Tech me how to Paseli lol. Also PIU is fun and I like it better than DDR... anyway...
I also play Stepmania but I'm a baby and refuse to play anything other than one hand keyboard.

Not the most social online, but IRL I'm friendly as long as you are. :3

To be honest the only reason I made this account was because a place near me got rid of their DDR machine like... last summer and nobody had updated it on this site. I'm going to do that right now, but I'm stating this here in case someone gets mad at me. The arcade listing is supposed to be kept up to date, right? Right?? Anyway... Mods if you're watching, here goes nothing.

My name is EmeraldX, though I like to use to name AR in Bemani or other rhythm and music game related things. I'm 18 years old and a fan of tons of rhythm and music games, including Bemani titles, though my favorites are DDR, ITG, PIU, and Groove Coaster. I've been a fan of DDR since 2006, and my love for it, and other rhythm and music games, has only grown. I like to do a lot of things in my free time, including making simfiles. Outside of rhythm games, I'm also a student who's currently learning how to produce music.

I had known about this site for a very long time, and to be honest, I don't know why I didn't make an account sooner. I don't know how much I'll post, but I hope to be active here. I look forward to meeting a lot of new people. It's a pleasure to meet you all!

My name is Andrew, I'm from Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada.

I've been into the DDR scene since 3rd Mix, and enjoy IIDX & Guitarfreaks as well. I worked at the Ruckers Fun Centres here in town for about a decade until they shut down. The Wonderland arcade here had a fire just over a year ago, and I ended up getting 2 DDR machines from them. One is running Extreme on location here in Regina with all brand new sensors and a bunch of new parts. It's on free play along with a handful of other arcade machines downtown. Looking forward to making some new friends on here. I travel between Alberta and Ontario across Canada, and buy / sell / trade arcade machines.

I didn't know about this Thread until now, so this is a bit late. I'll just let you guys know this isn't my first post on this site so allow me to introduce myself.

Hi I'm a MN DDR Player and I've been playing DDR since I was really little I would take a long break because of Just Dance and I would stop playing that and get back to playing DDR because someone has shown me the light, two people actually, Emplemon for making me see how bad popular things were becoming and Kon for getting me back into DDR, my first Game was Supernova US CS, I'm a huge fan of the Ultramix and Universe games my favorite character in DDR is Valencia and recently I've been getting into Beatmania, sadly I don't have the controller so I use the PS2 controller, same with ddr but I do have a mat however I'm a bit lazy.
The machines near me are 2 Extreme cabs and one SN cab however I don't really go to arcades too much.

Final things I have to say, probably waiting for an Round1 near me. Probably listening to Techno, Trance, because I'm not a huge fan of Dubstep.

Hello everyone! My name is Marc and I am from Pennsylvania.

I have played a bunch of Dance Dance Revolution (the console versions mostly, sadly) and I've gotten really good at it, beating all of the Heavy ( ) nines (most of the games I have had the old ratings, so it was US MAX, US MAX2, and US SuperNOVA) from the mixes I had at the time and getting lots of full combos. Now, I hope to get as good as I was at DDR back then.

Besides playing DDR, I played a bit of Dance ManiaX and ParaParaParadise while at a convention in 2017, and the other non-BEMANI rhythm/music games that I've played are Guitar Hero, Rock Band, Rhythm Heaven (the DS installment and Fever), Beat City (DS game that is a Rhythm Heaven rip-off), and Electroplankton (DS game that is an experimental music tool).

I started playing DDR recently, and I'm really enjoying it! I also play DanceRush Stardom which is just as fun. I'm a former choreographer, so I love freestyling on both DDR and DRS. I even get some of my former students to do it haha.

Hello everyone,

Started playing DDR on the PS2. I faintly remember modifying it to play DDR Extreme 2 Japanese Edition because of the vast song list compared to the limited american releases. Continued to play Ultramix 1 and 3 on the Xbox on those horrible green and red pads.

After a decade or so break, I picked up two pads from dancepadmania a few years back and played off and on. I never seemed to be able to reach the same level of playing from a decade ago that I reached on the XBox but that could be nostalgia making the past better than it was.

Just yesterday one of two pads died and the remaining pad is showing signs of death, im already in pieces over it as I play the awesome sim files you've all created that I need to say at least thank you for.

I originally only created an account to siphon as much music as possible for free but now that im here, I hope to be a more positive contributer than a simple bandwidth thief.

this site was hard to sign up for because i didn't notice the period at the "I am not a robot." question.

i played ddr and piu at my local arcades for some time and soon bought my own ghetto soft pads.
i played osu out of curiosity and then my osumania addiction spiked my life. after that, i began to detest that gamemode and move onto etterna. soon even that faded.
i went to vancouver to visit my sister one day, and we went to the arcade known as e-spot and found the only iidx machines in canada.
so i then bought a really expensive dao controller because of my lack of soddering equipment and access to materials.
i then took the time to get through the headache of installing lr2 and finding bms files, just to find out that the program was incredibly unstable and then moved on to the nightmare that is installing beatoraja (lol not really, just go on their website, install and extract the zip and change system locale)

now i waste time stepping on (soft) panels (that crunch) and pressing buttons quickly while spinning a turntable.
i mean, how else would you spend your summer?

You can call me Val for short; I'm a female fan of DDR who first started playing in 2007. Then I took a long break from it starting in 2009 and just got back into the game a few weeks ago. I look forward to tracking my scores and talkin with new friends here.
