Hey, how's it going? Glad you're here. I'm pretty much here for similar reasons - was into the whole scene back in high school, dropped out for one reason for another and now I want to get back into the scene again.

Hey man! Nice to meet you! I think we all just get busy over time. I have to admit though that playing the game has been bringing back some fun memories! Is there still a scene out in California? The DDR scene died a slow death in Kansas Cry Mainly because of the lack of machines so I've been playing at home mostly. Haha Glad I found this forum! Smile

¡Hola a todos! Qué tal todo.

I was raised on Dance Dance Revolution back when we were around 4th MIX (I was That One Kid who'd interrupt regulars to play one credit of like Pink Dinosaur and Bumble Bee

ETA: Ok, 40 minutes later I realize that putting emoji in my post makes it get chopped. Hrm Confused Confused

I was saying that I moved to Stepmania for a while after arcades started dying out in smaller cities. I recently moved to a big city though so now I got a thriving arcade not 5 blocks away, and I've been going to play a couple credits on the DDRX3 machine at the end of the day a couple of times a week. Other than DDR I played the three DS Osu! games on a flashcard, and I've stepped like ten songs on my computer and I wanted to ask if I can upload them here or if I should make like a Google Drive.

Nice to meet you guys, I hope we can be friends and all that Tongue

Hello, it's always nice to see more Chileans over here!

About simfiles, you can upload them here once you have a category, which can be requested here. Note that you need 50 points or more to have your own category. Otherwise, you can upload them somewhere else and then create a thread on Simfile Discussion to promote them.

Hello.

I am mu-box. I have been at this dance game thing, on and off, for 12 years.
I have recently came back at it—only with Stepmania/ITG though, with an Omega GX, as there are no arcades with 4-panel beside me.
I also make stepfiles, and I'll eventually post those here...

"Make it make money"
Hey, folks. I'm Kappatalist.

I got into DDR around the beginning of 2017, and I've been going at it ever since - both in DDR A at the local D&B and in StepMania with a friend's DIY metal dance pad. I also enjoy IIDX, Project DIVA, and Rock Band (although I'm not great at any of them).

I've made custom content for Rock Band and StepMania (the latter of which you can find on these forums).

I came to Zenius for the simfiles, but stayed for the forums. So far, all I've really done here is post a question thread about an SM theme and post a simfile thread. Here's to a whole lot more!

"I'm really, really bad at DDR."

Last updated: 2017-03-01 03:34am
Hello all of the DDR (and other rhythm games) community!

I'm... frankly a terrible DDR player (to me, anyway) and I've come to this forum to look for some feedback on my playing and how I could get better. I've been playing for only one month or so. I hope that this community can help me accomplish just that!

I do have a couple of ambitions (which may seem unrealistic):

- Become KAC Champion in 5 years WITHOUT using a bar (not sure if possible)
- Attempt to bring about a new generation of champion DDR players by having existing champions teach upcoming DDR players their secrets
- Become one of the best no-bar players out there
- Attempt to make DDR popular among the fitness crowd and the masses
- AAA Over the Period Challenge (in 3 years) without using a bar
- GET GOOD AT DOUBLES MODE

Also for your entertainment... here's a video of me playing AM-3P on Heavy/Expert Heavy on a DDR X3 vs 2ndMIX(?) arcade machine:

(if anybody has any feedback on my playing, please PM me)

@Mike458, You get a very special shout-out for saying that you play no bar.

I educated myself in the DDRFreak style of gameplay, which meant no bars and no speed mods, which are both recommended for tackling the current hard songs. Which means I completely get you and support your purpose.

That was a horrible sentence structure, I am sorry English teachers.

Hey guys! I'm kaffiene!

I joined to help to fill in the arcade map since there were no results for my state. I'm on a mission to track down the locations of the remaining public oitg/ddr cabs since most the current info online is horribly out of date Dead

It's something that i found really frustrating when i was trying to break in the scene, so hopefully I can fix that so more people can get involved Wink

I enjoy MaiMai but I'm terrible compared to the regulars. It's pretty embarrassing.

I'm fairly new as I only started playing regularly at the arcade last year after playing stepmania on and off throughout high school. I play on OpenITG cabs since those are the ones that have been maintained the best and sadly most of the remaining DDR cabs in my area have fallen into disrepair. I also love Pump it Up Prime but I find it so confusing switching from 4 panel to 5 panel lol.

I worked my way up from easy to medium last year and gradually without the bar so I'm aiming to tackle some hard charts this year Big Grin

I might as well get this done and over with...

Hello Zenius! I am MrDanceCrazer (MDC for short), and I'm a HUGE rhythm gaming fanatic. I started playing DDR at the age of 7 and since then, it became my number 1 video game of all time! As I grew I also got into the rest of the Bemani series including IIDX, Pop'n Music, GITADORA, Jubeat (Jukebeat for those living stateside), Reflec Beat, Sound Voltex, and some others that I can list for days but that's to long!

Also, I'm a rising Pop Culture man that likes to travel and have a Brilliant 2U time. I love going to conventions, arcades, theme parks, Major and Minor League Baseball stadiums (my favorite team is the Diamondbacks), and getting a feel of becoming a traveling DDR player. I have visited countless places over the past few years and in so I have...

1. Played DDR in 8 different states and amassed multiple high scores on courses and AAA's.
2. Went to numerous theme parks and recently conquered the fear of meeting the characters (met 78 [!?!] in total including sports mascots! And that was beginning just only a couple of years ago!)
3. Have visited a whole MLB division (NL West) and saw a whole Minor League system of teams (California League).
4. I also have explored outside of my gaming zone and includes fighting, racing, some sports, and shoot em ups.
5. They also have contributed to other successes in my gaming career including a runner up finish in a Super Smash Bros 64 Doubles tournament (also a 7th place finish in singles that same day), a top 32 finish in a Smash Bros Wii U Singles, and a 9th place finish in Pokken Tournament.

So I can't wait to see you all here on ZIV and hopefully be able to share a lot of my experiences that have gone within the past few years with you! I hope you all have a wonderful and glamorous day! Tongue

Hi, Kaffeine.

Unofficially we help with the tourism of the countries we are in. by mapping out the arcade locations in our area, we make things appealing for people who would end up in that country for various reasons (work, study, military assignment, etc.).

It's just too bad I am apparently in Pump country.

"Bump all the forum games!!"
Hi, I'm Cami (AKA CamCamtehCamsta, Cam Cam, or Cam). I came on this site because some of the game information in my area was out of date. Anyways, I play DDR since it's the the only Bemani game in my area (the closest Round 1 to me is in Seattle). I have yet to pass a 10-footer(old scale) or perfect full combo a song. But I've full combo-ed at least 50 songs and can pass 9-footers( I even full combo-ed one).
When you're Cam, you bump threads. It's what you do.
When you want to save 15% or more on car insurance, you switch to Geico. It's what you do.
