My local Round1 got the green light to add capture cards to the Bemani games, and the tech said he's gonna add them to the IIDX cab and DDR cabs first, allowing us to record direct video/audio from the games.
...only problem is, I kinda have very little idea how to properly do that. From what I can tell, there's basically just going to be an HDMI port/cable sticking out of the machine that you can plug into your laptop or something to get a video/audio feed from the game.
I don't have a laptop though, so what device would I use? I've heard of devices that accept HDMI connections and record video directly onto an SD / MicroSD card, but I don't know which one would work here. Ideally I'd want something that can record at least 720p (ideally 1080) and 60fps.

All cabinets have RCA or HDMI slots on the back for connecting to other devices. Many arcade stores do not allow their players to record from the RCA or HDMI slots. Find an arcade store and ask the operator before making a recording using this method.

I'm already past that part. I'm asking what device I need in order to just record video directly to an SD/MicroSD card.
