Is it required to play Quiz Academy to unlock "Connect" ?

In case anyone else didn't know, like I didn't, you can unlock these Fes Bemani event songs by installing the QMA game on your PC, and then playing a round or two. Even though it says "Japan only" on the game page, I didn't even need to use a VPN or anything, which I really appreciate! My e-Amusement account is Japan region, thats all. I was able to unlock the song in 3 plays, so it cost about $3.00.

Once the client is installed, it won't launch unless you launch from the QMA website. Log into your e-Amusement account, make sure you have Paseli (110 or 132 per play) on your account, then go to this link ->

There should be a button there that looks like this ->

Click this button, then on the next page click that button again, and a small window should appear showing it connecting. Then the game will come up in fullscreen. It will play an intro movie, then you need to select your player character and set up your card. Agree to the terms, agree to the "no custom items" warning, then pay your Paseli. After that, you will be prompted what mode you want to play. Click the Bemani MusiQ black box on the left side, then choose the Bistrover quiz on the screen with the gold boxes.

The quiz starts! Its pretty easy. It plays a brief portion of a song, then you click on the name of the song, the artist who made it, the style it came in, depending on the question. I really didn't even need to translate anything. (the other game modes are much harder, you need to type in Japanese, or re-arrange Japanese characters, or understand a riddle in Japanese, etc...) The bar on the left will fill up depending how well you do. To be able to reach the ranks above Kaiden, you need to answer perfectly, but also extremely quickly. The BGM it says you unlock on these ranks is not the songs for IIDX, its something else.

At the end of the quiz, a screen comes and your character will receive all sorts of points. I'm not sure which of these are the "Fes" needed, but you can check how much Fes you have here ->

Once you have enough Fes, that bar turns Green, indicating the unlock is ready. Go and play on IIDX, and the song will automatically be in the songlist (doesn't show any unlocking graphic or anything, its just there). When I did this, I chose to play on the old-style IIDX machine at my arcade, because I was worried the Lightning machine might not be Japanese region and might mess something up? After I knew the song was there, then I played it like normal on the Lightning machine.

Maybe everyone else already knew this, if so, sorry! But I didn't saw in the thread where it already was written. Thank you to Konami for making it possible for people living in the US to partake in this sort of an event!
