"Let's groove!"
Hello everyone!Very Happy
I'm new to Stepmania.
I've been a big fan of DDR since I was very young and I'm happy to share 2 simfiles I have just created.
They may not be perfect but I put effort in them and I would like you to try them and tell me what you think!
The songs I used are Agent Yoru o Yuku from the iDOLM@STER (difficulty: 7) and Open Your Heart from Sonic Adventure (difficulty:6).
I will appreciate any feedback.
Thank you in advance!Green Grin

alright so
it seems both of your files seem to have a case of bad offsync and (consequently) color syndrome
take Open Your Heart, for example
it's about 90ms off from being at a somewhat acceptable level while changing the notes the least amount
while there are no doublesteps, the player is facing left for the entirety of the file
which is... bad. for a variety of reasons (it becomes... dull to play)
but still, these are miles better than my first attempts at making files

for simfile creation, i heavily recommend using arrowvortex
it's very easy to use and has a lot of nifty features (such as a waveform viewer and a bpm/offset finder)
here's some guides to help you in this journey
basics
how to sync (for both the basics and sync guides, replace any instance of mixmeister with arrowvortex, the latter is more accurate but still not 100%)
how to graphics
patterns
one | two | three | four (marking footswitches/intentional doublesteps with mines is heavily recommended)

another thing i'd like to suggest is to playtest your files
as in, using the numpad as a "pad" and the fingers as "feet"
it really helps with finding doublesteps and the like in case you're continuing to make files

and lastly, you could take inspiration from some of our quality steppers
there's a grand variety of quality steppers in this website, here's a few, with example files for each
talkion - ian - marten - cuzco - digitalbasic - chewi - ddrdaikenkai - daffa - verticai - led - vaneden
the path to become an expert stepper is long, but i suggest you to not give up

I'll be sure to try out arrowvortex as you suggested.
