Date: 14th March, 2020
Time: Final Qualifying and Warm Up from 11AM, Tournament Proper at 1PM.
Venue: Arcade Club Leeds, Savins Mill Way, LS5 3RP
Rhythm Games Manchester, in association with Arcade Club Leeds, hosts DDRevival UK Returnes in just two months time, on 14th March, 2020. Following a successful first outing last August, we're returning to Leeds again for another chance to determine who can hold their nerve and claim the top spot!
Registration is £20 (via PayPal with me, or through EventBrite if you wish for something a little more secure) and includes the following:
Entry to the tournament (£10) at either Higher (Levels 14+) or Lower bracket (Levels 10-13), with all tournament entries going into the prize pool.
Saturday entry to the venue (normally £16).
About the venue: Arcade Club Leeds is a pay-to-enter, free-to-play arcade which has a plethora of machines situated over three floors. From Pong to House of the Dead 5, Arcade Club spans near half a century of amusement arcade goodness, including old popular favourites such as Track and Field, Space Invaders and Pac-Man, to rare imports from our friends in the east that cannot be found anywhere else in this country, with MaiMai and MusicGunGun to name just two!
The tournament itself:
The format is likely to be double elimination (this is subject to change dependent on numbers, but double elimination is most likely) with pre-tournament qualifying songs available to determine the seeding positions and brackets.
Songs are determined by random card draw. Software selects 5 songs from a given difficulty range (this is determined by tournament round). Both players will pick a song from these 5 as their pick for the round, and will then pick a song each to discard from the remaining 3. The three "selected" songs will then be played in the order they were originally drawn.
Winners are determined by EX score on each song individually. In cases of tied games, a single song will be drawn as a tie breaker.
