I've decided to drop feedback to everyone's files this round, and plan to do so for every other round as well:

No hard grades or numerical ratings because I felt that it would shift or slide around. I judged the top two difficulties if there were multiple difficulties (so Challenge/Expert or Expert/Difficult).

You're not wrong about the repetition. That's why I used Shellfie for the qualifier and not the later rounds where things matter a bit more.

That being said, I personally don't like the idea of making a harder/more technical second half for the sake of avoiding repetition if the song doesn't actually feel like it should get harder. If there were more instruments in the second half or if the second half featured a key change, sure I'd change up the patterns. If the song feels more climactic, the steps get more climactic. In this case the song just repeats with no changes at all, so that's how the steps played out. Regardless of which option you pick it ends up being a sort of lose-lose situation IMO.

I'm willing to give feedback as well to anybody that wants it, just PM me! (talkion, I'll send you my feedback on your file later, I don't really have time to do it this instant.)

So there are a few ways I think you could go about this without interrupting that kind of musical connection as much:
- Rely on patterns that get harder when mirrored. For example, you could have crossovers like LDRDR in the first half, which get harder to execute when flipped. I also find that, as people generally seem to be right foot dominant, shifting from right foot entry patterns to left foot entry patterns provides a minor source of difficulty change as well.
- Use patterns that look similar but require more movement. Between LUDUL and ULDLU, it's more dififcult to execute the latter.
- Or just outright remove the second verse. There's no min time limit, and I'd enjoy the file with one verse all the same

I get your struggle; I have actually tried to chart Splatoon songs before but a lot of them don't really mesh well with the usual length of files, lol
