Last updated: 2024-03-21 06:28pm
WARNING:
These themes are designed for home use.
The copyrighted music / artwork / characters installed in Stepmania are separately owned by the authors.
The installation of these themes in any arcade cabinet is strictly prohibited.

VR0 presents:
DDR A-based themes for SM 3.9+ REDUX and AMX (now splitted in blue and gold interfaces).

SM 5.1-new/ITGMania/Outfox users: Use Curilang's DDR A3 theme for SM 5.0.12 and later instead.

Support for all DDR A-based themes will end at March 31st, 2024.

DOWNLOAD FROM MEGA
ARROW SKIN pack
DDR SELECTION videos

Themes:
*Default themes:
**DDR A theme
**DDR A20+ (BLUE only)
**DDR A3 STANDARD and GOLD
*DDR SELECTION themes (use DDR A3 as base):
**DDR A20 PLUS blue

Songs:
* How To Play:
** LESSON BY DJ (Both japanese and english versions with lyrics, and with Korean subtitles of the english version)
* Splitted songs (Links deleted, due to support ends).

Req.:
* SM 3.9+ REDUX or AMX (not recommended 3.9 standard due to have some bugs that aren't presents on 3.9+ REDUX/AMX)

Install process:
* Extract this archive onto "(3.9+ or AMX program)" folder. Announcers, arrow skins and themes are included and automatically installed onto the respective folders.
* If you install a new version of the theme, delete the older theme first.
* For uninstall, simply delete it.

Music Wheel sort:
* GENRE: sort the songs by genre/origin game/events
* SERIES FOLDER: sort the songs by folder
* ABC: sort the songs alphabetically (Due to Stepmania limitations, is sorted by number, A-Z (use translit title), other language and graphic characters)
* BPM: sort the songs by BPM
* DIFFICULTY: sort the songs by difficulty (due to 3.9 limitations, is splitted to BASIC, DIFFICULT, EXPERT and CHALLENGE)
* CLEAR RANK: sort the songs by clear rank (ALL PERFECT/MARVELOUS: Req. PFC or MFC; NO DATA: new or failed songs or cleared songs with <1/2 EX SCORE; FAILED: Fail at song ends.)

Known issues:
Themes:
* Don't disable CAUTION display or you have troubles.
* All themes use SN2 score. SM 3.9 REDUX and AMX is required. You have troubles if you change to other score systems.
* To preserve the EX SCORE display like an arcade, keep it on DANCE POINTS.
* PRAY FOR ALL message is used on tohokuEVOLVED only.
* COURSE MODE is in RC state.
* SWITCH SP/DP is NEW in DDR A3 theme and in renewal DDR A-based themes, is disabled on EXTRA STAGE and can be switched by changing difficulties.

* DDR(1st) UI:
** SCREEN FILTER is disabled. All other options are forced to default. Only SPEED, TURN, SCROLL, ASSIST, LIFE GAUGE, DIFFIUCLTY and CHARACTERS can be changed.
** The LIFE GAUGE is DDR(1st)-like customized.
** The stage number use 2ndMIX font
*** ENCORE EXTRA in gameplay now is showned instead of only EXTRA STAGE.

** ScreenGameplay UI is based on old Takuya's EXTREME theme for SM3.9.
** Difficulties use old DDR A's theme as base (deleted for upgrade to A20+).
** Oni LIFE GAUGE frame revamped to match with the HD remake (due to 4 LIVES and RISKY options, and CHALLENGE MODE).
** New ENCORE EXTRA graphics in both ScreenStages and ScreenGameplay (in beta state).
** FULL COMBO transitions use default DDR X3 font.
* Supernova2:
** Due to the metrics now use DDR X series, the number (P1, P2 or CPU) in the LIFE GAUGE is disabled and the border is grayed.
* X2
** FULL COMBO transitions use default DDR X3 font.
* Default UI/DDR A/A20 PLUS theme:
** The DANGER filter cover SINGLE (to half screen). Due to a bug, don't cover all screen on DOUBLE.
** The username is not implemented on gameplay due to the limitations and due to the difficulties that change position on REVERSE mod.

Due to shop closure, use system clock to enable these features:
* From 23:50: Gameplay is disabled. EDIT songs are posible.
* 00:00 to 07:00: Interfaces are disabled.
* If your system clock is reset, interfaces are disabled until correct the clock to release data (based in Arcades' release date)

Songs:
* Splitted songs (as ACE FOR ACES or as CHAOS (TERROR-TECH MIX) CHALLENGE) use BPM splitted across difficulties. Grab it (link on the DOWNLOAD section) if you cannot split difficulties or if you use SM 3.9 standard. Splitted songs work on all 3.9 themes.

It's possible, but enter to gameplay instead of return to song list, due to old 3.9 engine (Holding START or hitting START twice).

In stepmania.ini:
[Options]
ArcadeOptionsNavigation=0

Switch this to 1.

There's two ways (technically three) of going about this.
1: Custom Music Wheel and Select Music Screen

2a: Hijack all inputs from the built in input handling on select music using input redirection and use various commands and if statements to have the game habdle things how it should be. (Clean method without custom screens)

2b: Set up an input handler on select music and utilize twopartselect to prevent the game from moving on to stage info when the start button is pressed (How I currently have the options menu popping up on my DDR X theme.

I've been doing like 2a in all my themes eversince but i treat all assets of player and sort options as music select subscreens instead of having them made separately, hence, difficulty and player options textures can pass below the song info textures in music select as seen in my DDR A theme.

If you dont mind me asking, how do you handle opening and closing sections and having the game transition to stage info cleanly?

I know how to open a section but no idea how to close it and I'm unable to get a clean transition using screen messages

I made recorded videos of each stage minus the jacket, bottom side text and the score frame/text for Stage Info screen. You need to edit the images inside the arc files to blank for recording use. The same also I did for How To Play video.

And for the answer, I used Sony Vegas(for getting the time tween distance/delay between animation)/PShop(for getting the texture coordinate and distance) to get their animation.

The shutter "door" textures (blue, red, pink, gray) should be put inside a sprite and call them using conditional statements.

I meant for the handling to transition to stage info, not the animations but that helps too I guess

You do it during Music Select tween out before the next screen via lua (or when you broadcast the NextScreen to Stage Info)

The delivery of the statement was cold, but the idea is accurate. This is a 3.9+ Redux theme. Converting it to SM5 would be a very intensive process as it would require a complete rebuild from scratch. It would be better to update the A theme for SM5, which has been done (look in the DDR A SM5 thread, it might be in one of the A20 videos though).
