I remember doing the loc. test for X2 back in 2010. Both Alan and I noting loudly "THE SYNC IS PISS POOR, I shouldn't be Full Comboing things with a C", and Konami amazingly listened to us and adjusted it.
Just kidding, they changed nothing.

X2 cabs with the speed mod bug/crosswiring are the worst
Cab here has really good sync but awful pads

To be fair, they fixed some sync issues on X1, and in X2's case the game worked fine if the cabinet was bought with fresh hardware and it was just X1 upgrades that died. I'd just be happy if the pads hadn't had that change that makes them just a nightmare to maintain where they removed the bracket holding the panels above the sensors.
Still hoping one of the few bowling chains in the country picks up DDR again and puts it around the place, highly doubt it though but you can hope! It'd be nice for there to be more than what, 5 DDR A offline cabs in the country? One of which is allegedly £1 a song...

Namco supplied like 3 of their arcades with white cabs. There’s around 18 offline white cabs in the UK as of now. Arcade Club in Leeds has a Japanese X cab running Ace.
Hollywood Bowl isn’t interested in DDR anymore, many people have tried asking them to get Ace and they’ve said no. Tenpin put pump prime 2 at a few locations but people didn’t like it because it was too confusing for casual players.

I know FunStation aren't in the market for one, and I'm GLAD they don't tbh. FunStation's would definitely be £1.20 a song.

Well, what song list do you think is the best in that case? And what does the interface have to do with the song list?
For the first question, it's EXTREME and X2, 3rd Mix in the old generation.
For the second question, both helps that it's a good game, like I said in previus posts, we continue seeing the same since 10 years ago, the same graphics, Play Station 2 format. (characters, dancefloor, announcer). The presentation of songlist is the unique we see which changes but the rest nothing.
In my opinion, DDR is not dead but with I don't believe something really new for the AC in the future.
it will keep in the same standard and i don't believe that Konami or Bemani invest for something really new for DDR anymore.

Its a bigger number than i was certainly expecting , the Arcade Club one though would undoubtedly have been imported if it's an old X cabinet, unless its the one random X cabinet that was used for several location tests years ago.
I had no idea about Pump prime 2 going into Tenpin locations, they certainly never put it at ours with its Fusion that somehow just keeps getting worse and worse.
I still have everything crossed with each new release we'll see more come out over here but I certainly can't see most UK arcades taking on DDR A2 cabinets (If they were even offered) just because of the sheer amount of space they'd end up taking.

Interfaces have always been very similar across mixes. 1st-5th, 6th-X, X2-2014, and Ace-a20 all used the exact same interface with different colors. If we ever get another mix, there's a good chance that we'll see a brand new interface. In terms of the announcer and backgrounds, I'm not sure that we really need a new one. It doesn't affect gameplay and I'd rather them focus on content then small details.

Only a few tenpin locations got pump and most got it removed due to unpopularity.
If A20 comes out in Europe it’ll probably be stuck offline and I doubt we’d get gold cabs.

sir all the BEMANI games reused interfaces and other UI elements, this isn't exclusive to DDR
some are more reused than other yes but iidx has been stuck with sfx, judgement fonts, and other stuff for more than 12 years, gfdm was using ps1-esque graphics in 2004 while nearly all the other ongoing BEMANI series moved on to better hardware and graphics, even to where they had to remove old songs, much more than DDR X/SN did
EXTREME is also the prime example of reused UI elements, it should've been more drastic graphic wise considering it didn't carry the MAX subtitle (although i do suppose EXTREME and MAX are words that both share an idea of intensity, excitement, emphasis, rush & adrenaline) and has the MAX boss songs) and was released 5 years after the first DDR, and some franchises celebrate 5th anniversaries
A20 may look like a reskinned A at first glance but after rewatching videos back to back, A20 is honestly more detailed and less hollow (not that it is hollow, but A20 filled in a lot more stuff in the emptier spaces) than Ace, particularly in the stage transitions and selecting modes, and the interface will grow on you hopefully, as the fonts have grown on me btw

Nice set-up I came across in Tokyo; got me interested in playing again after a 6-year layoff.
