Not exactly Round1's fault; e-amuse was only offered in Asia and DDR 2013 & 2014 literally wouldn't boot without an e-amuse connection. An imported X3 technically would but would have absolutely no unlocks or updates and would be locked to the wimpy day 1 songlist.

Not true. Later updates to X3 unlocked nearly everything even when running offline.

This did not stop Round1 from having other BEMANI games that required eAmusement. The Round1 near me opened in 2015, before Ace was released. They had IIDX Pendual, SDVX GW and Gitadora, all of which require online connections.

From what I can tell, Round1 attempts to get the necessary licensing rights to allow the games to be played in the US. At one point, they tweeted that if a particular Japanese game is not available at their stores here, it's because they were not able to secure the necessary licenses for it (I think this was in response to someone inquiring about CHUNITHM). DDR (pre-Ace) and other games likely fell under this limitation.

My Round1 opened in 2012, they had IIDX Lincle and I think GFDM-XG running online, though SDVX didn't come until a year later, with Gravity Wars just came out.

If you want me two cents, I think the only reason why we have eAmuse for the Japanese games is because their corporate office might have some kind of affiliation with Konami, and they might've been the ones to have convinced them to make a local version of DDR A. Taito probably offered dirt cheap licenses for Groove Coaster, and that might've contributed to us getting official English translations for that game.

Either way, we have them to thank for having over three times the IIDX machines nationwide compared to just 10 years ago, when most of the machines were in the LA/SF area.

Holy shit, what happened with the sound direction in DDR, they focused heavily bringing some godlike artists from 0 to this. What a time to be alive.

I'm glad we're getting all these new songs, but I almost wish that they had waited to release A20 a week if it meant having all of this at launch. I know it doesn't really matter at this point, but I feel like that would have made the launch a little stronger if they had had these 6 new songs right away, especially HYNBM.

Konami really went sicko mode with this game already better than ace so far ur doing great Konami sweetie
