Just gonna throw the possibility out there that maybe the version in those pictures is the not the final product and the interface when A20 actually comes out could be different.
Yeah, anything is a possibility.Post #502 · Posted at 2019-03-13 09:49:34pm 5.1 years ago

That's what I'm thinking. The gameplay UI looks unchanged from A. Also it's not called A20 in this article, so it's likely an early build of the game.Post #503 · Posted at 2019-03-14 01:51:42am 5.1 years ago

I agree with PureBlue too. Early MAX still had some stuff from 5thMix (including songs) and also for some reason the title screen doesn't even have the A20 logo.
I can't wait to hear the new ARM and Nicole Curry song

Listen, i'm not going to pretend that I'm some alpha chad who never listens to anything weeby, but even I groaned looking at that update. And this is coming from someone who enjoyed the Japanese-oriented sound direction of 2013/2014 and all the vocaloid.
I mean I guess chocolate smile & Neko*neko are fine, but the rest are pretty skippable, both musically and stepchart-wise. And who cares what their difficulty ratings are? Most of them have poorly written/forgettable step charts. There's almost nothing to defend for a majority of those of songs.

I love idol music and I can enjoy my share of denpa.
The Tokimeki Idol music is fine for what it is, would much prefer some sort of Love Live/IM@S content instead.
Hinabitter/Coconatsu is no good, I wanna enjoy the music not fight against my natural instincts that tell me to run away from it. There's only so much wacky kawaii chiptune noise I can tolerate.
You could remove all Hinabitter content from the game and it doesn't miss a beat.

I'd like to take this moment to point out SHO is part of the team Roppongi 3K. And his favourite song is Roppongi EVOLVED.

>trashing hinabitter when it came out in 2013 on DDR and still do
>Doesn't mind all the other Japanese focused music that actually came after and arguably is more mediocre
I don't mind all the "weeb" songs anymore since I've learned that they've been literally been part of the focus of DDR for the past few years and Konami chooses it's target audience and focuses on them, so you should expect what kind of choices to expect from that, also hinabitter has barely been a presence in DDR overall they had more focus on other kinds of Japanese songs, and America is just an bonus market for konami

I can accept that Konami targets the arcade casuals rather than the hardcore audience, there's more money to be made that way long term. I can still dump on songs that aren't that good as a whole and not want more of it when we could have a better selection of music. It's funny that people are quick to shit on new konami originals for not being groundbreaking or totally unique but will at times defend stuff like hinabitter to their grave regardless of how same sounding many of the song are. Adding content that will be played by the target audience is fine by me, but it could be better than this.
Also I think you mean otaku instead of weeaboo

Who knew it would be Hinabitter that would destroy us?
Anyway I'm not a big fan of the Hinabitter and I'll admit there's WAY too much of it, but I'm not the target audience for DDR. If that's what Japanese players like, then whatever.

The difference between other J-POP songs and HinaBitter is that the J-POP songs are chosen to appeal to the mainstream crowd, while HinaBitter songs are still made so Konami can sell merchandise no one outside of Japan can legally/easily obtain, while also making me secretly loathe Tomosuke for coming up with this damn idea in the first place.
I've been pissing on shlock like HinaBitter and Tokimeki Idol for years. Finally glad to see this community admitting they're sick of this crap, too. Chart quality doesn't mean a lot to me when you literally don't want to play the songs with said charts.
Coconuts songs are typically pretty good, though.

I know this is a crazy concept on ziv, but how about we let people have their own opinions on what they do and don't like and stop trying to shame them for not liking certain types of japanese music.

So the flames are a permanent part of the logo. Looks pretty gorgeous!

Meanwhile, in celebration of Konami's 50th anniversary, a new memorial song by pretty much everyone in the in-house sound department will be added to all active BEMANI games (including DDR A20) on March 21st.

To be honest, I can't differentiate between hinabita, and coconatsu
hinabita is supposed to be the more "high school band" music while coconatsu were more like an EDM duet idol unit.
The Coconatsu songs that are still only in SDVX are the best ones tbh, especially the ones from the contest they had for artists to make music for them, so we're missing out on songs by artists like lapix who made a coconatsu song.
But at least DDR has Mirai Prism which was a really strong entry point for them...too bad it's only available in JP cabs..............................

Considering the new idol stuff comes out a week after A20 releases, I wouldn't stress too much about it. There will be more than enough content to go around.
