Based on how they presented it I would've thought it to be just a new cabinet but after remembering the whole history_15 "next DDR...?" leak from the 20th anniversary site I'm pretty convinced it'll be a completely new mix.

If it is to be a new mix, what will that entail? Will the sequel and new cabinet come with yet another new Bemani PC type?

DDR X-2014 is PC Type 4 (XP Embedded)
DDR A is PC Type 5 (Win7 Embedded)

Now that I realize DDR A is natively a different guts, how did Japanese machines upgrade? Was it a software upgrade of existing DDR X or DDR 2013+ cabinets, or did they actually upgrade the guts to Bemani PC Type 5?

And if the coming new cabinet is a new mix, will it have different guts, like a Bemani PC Type 6 potentially with Windows IoT (the new Windows Embedded)?

I doubt any new hardware will be Windows IoT. IIDX Cannon Ballers/Rootage and DanceRush both still use Win7 on new hardware setups.

I just realized that we may have all seen a sneak peek at some new character outfits for whatever's coming up:

wondered that too. there was a cut emi outfit in ace that wasn't used (probably since it wouldn't work with the jomanda emi outfit) but it was the same style as 5th emi. wondering why that outfit isn't shown in this pic.

it would be nice if they gave us all outfits for the characters from 1st until now if they do end up releasing a 20th mix
DDR is awesome! (:

I mean, I doubt the pads are THAT different from the white cab pads as far as the internals and shit go, so everything will probably fine.

It's less the pads and more the distance of the pads from the screen, but Chris has gone on record stating that he prefers that to standard Ace cabs.

Pretty sure this is taken out of context. Distance between the pads and screen no longer matters when the size of the screen and angle of the screen has changed.

Considering that these are based off of Dancerush cabs, I'd imagine taller people would love the bigger/higher screen; it would help release some of the tension on your back compared to the older cabinets, which have the monitors tilted back a bit.

Yeah, playing on PIU TX cabs definitely feels nicer than playing on DDR A cabs. Much bigger screen at a much nicer height, and it's flat in front of me instead of being at an angle.

That's visual, yes. But I'm talking about the amount of time it takes the noise from the cab to get to your ears.

But due to the version changes, Supernova2's arcade boards are changed by Bemani PC. The original Supernova2 version is still Python 2.

Not gonna lie, I'm kinda glad this new DDR isn't being called "DDR A20"; that name honestly sounded kinda stupid. XD

I just hope we'll see footage of this new version, and I can update the thread with footage of it. XP

Also, I absolutely nailed that they recycled the Dancerush cabinet, but it looks great!
