Mostly because Fefemz is a Pump player as well so he's used to playing on giant flat screens.

In general, using completely new hardware that nobody has played on before, in a world championship, is kinda really bad.

Yeah, using brand new hardware isn’t ideal, but it was brand new to every competitor. The fact that FEFEMZ was able to PFC an 18 on it despite having barely used the machine before speaks to his skill as a gamer. Super impressive and a well deserved win.

I did feel bad for fungah going out like he did though. I feel it was less the machines fault and more the fact that he picked the wrong speed mod for the size and position of the screen.

Knew the US was gonna find a excuse why they lost lol.

It was funny seeing people downvote the BEMANI Special because it seemed everything was done to ensure that none of the Bemani Sound Team artists could be properly seen (except maybe wac). So I guess BST now stands for Blurred Sound Team.

Edit: This also happened on day 1's special. I always thought that BST was being robbed of their identities, but now it seems even more so here than before.

Huh, I didn't notice the blurring at first, but I guess that's because I was able to watch it live where I and the entire audience can still see everything clearly. Looking at the livestream now, it definitely wasn't even close to being able to capture the live viewing experience (and of course all the performances themselves).

At least MAD CHILD wasn't blurred at all, though, and his mix was the best part imo.

Ohhhh, the blur was intentional?? Here I was thinking that it was some camera guy's first day, and for the life of him he couldn't figure out how to focus properly, so they had to show the gameplay vids to cover for it. Wooooow. Well that miffs me a bit.

2 cents: ok honestly I'm not upset by the us loss but i don't think people were trying to excuse USA's loss here in this thread at least, just analyzing why they lost, but not nessecarily feeling robbed (fefemz deserves the win anyways) but honestly who cares about #zomgmuricalost when this is actually the real devastating thing: fungah has sexually harassed women and no one isn't really doing anything about it besides recent allegations surfacing again

Exactly. And like SomethingRandom said above, I personally couldn't care less that USA didn't win, I don't even like Chris lol. I was only stating that it's screwed up of Konami to expect ANY of these players to perform at their usual level in a tournament when they are forced to play on brand new hardware with differences they have to adjust to on the fly. That adds unnecessary stress and tournament play is a mind game as it is.

Fefemz is just the best in the world. His crossovers are clean as fuck and he actually steps on the pads instead of just lightly tapping for maximum speed. It's an adapt or die world out here, and Fefemz adapted faster and better than everyone else.
