After all the backlash, here's what the devs wrote today:

Quote
Hello, Pumpers!
We have got many feedback and thanks for your voices.
About the inconvenience, I feel so sorry about that and we are looking for the way can solve those inconvenience. 🤔
On several mobile devices, has less 2 GB ram... can experience lag or unexpected problems. I suggest you to play PUMP IT UP H5 has more than 2GB ram mobile device or PC
It may not take much time, we will do that step by step.
Thanks!

They don't (and won't) give a shit about optimizing the game for PC at all, will they? But even if they only made this game for mobile, that's no excuse to make a game like this. Most phones have more than 2GB of ram... unless the devs just arrived from a time rift made in early 2007. >>

Actually Infinity is StepMania. Despite how well they imitated the Korean engine (right down to the layout of the service menu), the telltale giveaways are the fact that it still shows the usual "Service switch pressed" prompt like SM, and the fact that this exists

Yeah that does make me question what I am remembering.

From what I am recalling I remember reading one of the team members from team infinity, saying it wasn't stepmania but andamiro's own game engine. This was years ago, so I could just be recalling incorrectly.

Are you really gonna argue with one of the sm5 developers about this?

Yep plus they used Stepmania for Pro, Pro 2, and Infinity
Infinity is not based off of stepmania.

Yeah it is. It's based of Stepmania 5

Stepmania 4 if i remember correctly.

I don't think you understand what arguing is.

Wasn't telling him he's wrong, I was explaining my reasoning for saying what I said. But if you wanna consider that arguing then go right ahead buddy.

My bad on the infinity thing though.

For the record, Infinity’s built its own branch of StepMania 5 that diverged at beta 2; it was originally developed and released in 2012, and to my knowledge they kept finagling with that base engine all the way to the final update in 2016.

On my local Infinity cab, I've been able to play custom steps from USB with all the fancy features Stepmania lets you throw into a stepfile (down to modifiers/attacks for vaguely taronuke-like files). Among other things about USB support that caught my attention, that makes me think that they're still using Stepmania 5 on Infinity's final update.

On the topic of XX, didn't they do a closed beta for a mobile version a while ago? Did anyone really say much about it back then?

Yeah, but it was only open for people in South Korea, and who knows if it was the same game we got. If that last mobile game had better stuff, I will be sad. XD

Got? No, that game’s not out yet. H5 is the “HTML5” part of this twentieth anniversary, “Mobile” and “Arcade” are lurking in the wings!

On another note, I haven't played H5 yet (I don't have a computer at the moment), but judging from the reviews...not really worth it, I guess.
I hope that the mobile version ends up better.
The arcade version looks pretty good though.

In all my years of lurking this forum and seeing people come and go (2007 and onwards), I think you're probably the most annoying person on this website.

Hey thanks for the confirmation!

OT: Decided to play the facebook pump game and yeah...it's complete garbage. It feels and looks like something someone made in 2005.

Also no idea if anything has changed with the mobile version but the UI for it looks good. The songlist from some of the pictures I saw for it months ago seem heavily based off of Prime 1.

Agreed on how awful H5 looks, it made me question whether or not it was actually an official pump game. It really looks like some kind of awful clone from the era of adobe flash, and not anywhere near an official game.

Andamiro made a new channel and released a song list for XX. The comments are pointing out that they lost a lot of k-pop and world music licenses. Among all the different mixes there still seem to be a bunch of good songs (to me at least), but it definitely feels very incomplete. I really hope they can get some of them back before launch.

Was I the only one who thought the title was pronounced "Pump It Up Double-X", and not "Pump It Up Twenty"? XD

Wow, even longtime mainstays like Don't Bother Me are axed. I guess that's the price of K-Pop becoming a lot more popular worldwide, and in turn, the rights becoming 5 times more expensive... >>

Damn, that's a shame. XX still has a lot of good songs in it, but those songs played a large part of what makes me love playing Pump.

Though, this isn't exactly new. Dignity and a bunch of other songs got the axe in PRIME 2.
