Oh, thats cool!!!
I can`t wait for trying it!
And I can`t wait for my new apartment... then I can play every day again
Will it work on Stepmania 3.9?
or better: on OpenITG?I think OpenITG has no nonstop mode
But how I can find out how many % I got on Stepmania? I don`t like to get just some stupid points....
haha

So there will be 4 packs?
One .rar file to download. It'll contain all 40 songs, and 4 different course files.
On the first week, you play the "ZIV's Biggest Loser Week 1" Nonstop Course. Second week, you play Week 2, and so on. Each course is just the previous week's course, with more songs added on at the end. Some people will never get past the first 20 songs, but will still get a very effective DDR workout from it.
We'll use songs from whatever PS2 game the most people have access to. Anyone who doesn't have that game can easily make an alternative couse, which follows the same difficulty format, and avoids boss songs. It's just more fun if we're all doing the same one

Can someone check MAX 2 US, and see how long you can make the courses? It's easy enough to just make two 10-song courses, and play them back to back.

I would think that this would be just for the thread because I don't see how courses would be implemented in a tracker.
EDIT: And what happens if you don't or can't play everyday?

This doesn't have anything to do with a score tracker, although that's a nice idea that came out of the discussion.
I mentioned in the big post that the idea of the ZIV Biggest Loser challenge is that attempt the course once a week, and then record your attempt in the thread. You're free to make practice runs on the course every day and dicsuss how those are going, if you want, or you can just sit around and eat pizza for a week, then attempt the course, and see how that works out for you!

It worked for Catherine

My computer doesn't recognize .rar files.
Is that because you don't have WinRAR?

You could adapt the numbers according to whichever difficulty is the highest you can consistantly pass..
So if you you normally pass all 5s, but sometimes struggle on 6s, then the highest level you want to attempt is 5, and you've make sets of 5 songs which go
2, 3, 4, 4, 5
or
2, 3, 3, 4, 5
Then play 4 of those sets back to back? The important thing is that you have a warm up song, then 3 songs that get your heart gently pumping, and then one song that challenges your muscles, then a "cool down" song that relaxes you, before 3 more songs to get your heart pumping, a challenging song, and then repeating the whole thing until you've done 20 songs.

Maybe we sould make a Zenius Workout Club, and try to get some DDR-based exercise shedules we can all force each other to do on a daily basis?

That would be fun.
The only issue is that I can only use SMO on my Macbook Pro and my StepMania pads aren't compatible with it.

So when we decide what courses we will do on workout mode will we pic which CS version to do them on and what happens if someone doesn't have that version or a PC compatible pad in which to play those songs?

I think that we should just come up with courses for ourselves because not everyone has the same games. However, the courses should follow Tyma's example but tweaked for your difficulty level.

Great idea. We can state the course in which we will be playing and talk about our goals towards completing this or any other goals we have and when we do it we can post our results and that's where the workout tracker comes into play.
EDIT: If we get no workout tracker than we can post specific things about our results like total calories burned, difficulty levels, and amount of time spent completing this course.

The reason I'm asking people to sign up and list which CS games they own, and whether they have access to Stepmania is to figure out which game is the best game to use, so as many people as possible can attempt the same course.
When we which game we'll be using, I can put together the courses for all 4 weeks.
If everyone is happy for me to run this, then on Wednesday, I will put together a new thread, with a detailed opening post, and very clear explanations of how to take part, and what you'll need to do.
It doesn't matter whether you play the songs on PS2 or on Stepmania, as long as you play them with a pad, and you play them as a Nonstop Course.
There's no point playing them in Diet Mode or Game Mode, because then you have to take pictures of 40 results screen to track your progress, instead of taking a picture of just one.
If someone doesn't have either the most popular game, or access to Stepmania, then they can still challenge themselves by making their own similar course for a game they do have, although they'll obviously be playing different songs from the rest of us, so they won't be a part of the same challenge, they'll just be challenging themselves (which is fine).
Everyone should try and play the same course, because it's going to be an awesome feeling to pass 20 (or even 40) songs back to back, with everyone else trying to do the same.
