Raven
(#9 in the D-A-I Series)

Stepped by Xythar for DDREvolved.com SpookyMix 2010

Much like DAI themselves, the D-A-I Series is back from the dead! :) But not with one of their new songs, as I think this rather old one (from their first album "Break of Dawn") fits SpookyMix much better. Mostly due to the video, though - this song was used as the theme for the 2000 horror film "Uzumaki" and the video alternates between scenes from the film and creepy shots of Tomiko Van.

Since the film "Uzumaki" is all about spirals, I made the heavy steps into spirals as well. You can get through the verses on Heavy by basically just spinning all the way - or, if you still need to practice the turns or simply hate fun you can double-step them as well. I took the utmost care in ensuring that either approach would feel like a perfectly valid way to play, though I'd also be quite interested in seeing other people's interpretations of the steps as well. The chorus abandons double stepping for some 16th usage that's kind of midway between Snail and Rakuen Lite. Incidentally, did you realise that a raven is only 7 bpm faster than a snail? I know, right?

If you really hate double stepping and spins then play on standard as it doesn't have any. :P

Graphics were made from scratch by me using brushes from Deviantart. I think they turned out fairly well!

Lyrics are from We Are For The Future: http://www.globemoon.net/waftf/dai/lyrics/raven_trans.html

Thanks, and have a spinningly great time!
