Why did some BEMANI crossovers in the older generations of DDR (X to below) are shorter?

From 4thMIX to X, when some BEMANI transplants are being crossovered to DDR... song lengths of those songs were cut to the shorter time (such as era, V, sync, Dragon Blade, etc)

most other bemani songs in their originating games usually play in like... 2 minutes or 1:50 mins... then when being transplanted to DDR, usually it's around 1:40 or 1:30...

I wonder why... maybe so people don't wanna be too tired after playing those?

I think it was because almost every DDR original or license back then was around 1:30 ~ 1:40 on length, so KONAMI wanted to keep everything around the same length (save for some CS songs like DoLL).

The same thing was done for the first release of REFLEC BEAT, where most of the originals were around 1:30, so songs like Elisha, SigSig, and smooooch were cut down to around that length. Of course, afterwards, that quickly changed.

Even Elisha, SigSig, and smooooch got their original cut on groovin.

I always thought it was because the DDR crew thought people wouldn't survive playing the songs though a longer run time especially with the Expert charts (not counting the long versions long versions in 5th Mix) but DMAxel does have a good point.
