I'm kinda late into considering purchasing an arcade machine, and don't fully understand how E.amuse works.
If I was to buy a Beatmania iidx machine will it not work post (a particular version) unless I somehow connect it to the E.amuse servers?
Which machines would work without me having to go through a load of hassle to get it working (plug and play )
Machines pre Beatmania iidx.....19?
Same with a DDR cabinet.....Is that pre X3?

"five minute white boy challenge"
IIDX, 19 Lincle and up require E-Amuse.
DDR, 2014 requires E-Amuse. Although without E-Amuse, there's a very limited songlist for X3. I suggest a 573 cabinet anyway.

Approximately nobody asked for this song to be included. Least popular decision by the Japanese since Nintendo released the Wii U.

In terms of sound voltex, jubeat and pop n music, which don't use E.Amuse?
I should have asked about all initially >.< my bad.

For a bonus round am I correct to say Technica tune series is now limited as their servers are down?
And the PIU series is all free from any networking issues?

IIDX tricoro, DDR 2013, pop'n music Sunny Park, jubeat saucer onwards require eAMUSE.
Every SOUND VOLTEX game requires eAMUSE.

Lincle doesn't require it. There's a workaround for that where it can play offline no problem.

Isn't there a work around for tricoro as well? I thought Lincle could work fine without e-amuse at all and tricoro was the first the "needed" it.

There is indeed a workaround for Tricoro, also Spada as well.

From what I know, these are the versions of BEMANI you can run WITHOUT needing an e-amuse connection to boot:

DDR: DDR X3 vs. 2ndMIX (no e-amuse unlocks, however a workaround is being made to fix this)
IIDX: Lincle (Same thing)
Pop N' Music: fantasia (No idea)
jubeat: copious APPEND
Reflec beat: limelight (No idea if it comes unlocked or not.)
GF&DM: XG3
Sound Voltex: NONE
Future TomTom: NONE
Beatstream: NONE
Dance Evolution: No clue, but just assume it won't work without e-amuse.
MUSECA: Requires NeonFM's permission :v (Seriously, it will need it I assume).

There are ways of making it work with 'current' versions, but if you plan on having said machines in a public area, you won't get any help on that end. In other words, just play the versions that don't need an e-amuse connection if you plan on having your machine in a public area. Privately owned area, I don't know about that...

Edit: someone should REALLY sticky this somewhere so as to let people who are curious in buying machines know what versions they can run without having to hook up to e-amuse.

^ XG3 is the last GF/DM game that doesn't require eAMUSE. copious APPEND for jubeat.

jubeat and REFLEC BEAT are stuck in default songlist: barely any KO and tons of licenses. not even past version unlocks are playable because you gotta unlock them.

Save you're money and buy a controller instead.

Yes, you can play all of the IIDX games Offline. However, you won't be able to save you score/customise your character/Note's theme etc for most of them.

There are Hex edits to unlock all music etc and Beatfree cracks.

There is also E-amuemu that can be used to play some of the iidx games IIDX14 - IIDX 18. It allows you to run a server on your computer that will allow you to unlock song's etc.

Personally, i would just recommend Spada and Lunatic rave 2. That way you can play pretty much all the best song's up to now and with lunatic rave, play the BMS of Fighters.

xx

EDIT: Yo, don't post leaked data on a public forum. We don't want to get into trouble.

I brought a double beatmania controller and pop n music of dj Dao years ago got bored of the songs that i had on the ps2.
It's only when I had an oportunity to get a e2 super dance station that i began to look to see what will work without any trouble if i were to import a machine.
I didnt really want to use work arounds due to fearing of messing things up mainly. using hex edits etc is way above my capabilities o.O
Thanks for the imput. I think I'll explore emulators for the pnm/iidx mix (might as well as I have the controllers)
And look into getting a gm/dm xg3 (might as well go for something new to play)

I wanted the sound voltex / jubeat / dj max technica series but now knowing the online requirements has stopped that.

Any one know if Mai Mai has any online requirements?

Sound voltex is garbage. Controls suck, Gameplay sucks, Music sucks. You are missing out on nothing.

DjMax would be amazing, but touchscreen.

Never played Jubeat.. that's some weird multi touch screen thing isnt it ?

Maimai can be ran offline, but the song list will be shorter due to most of the songs requiring unlocks.

GrooveCoaster can be ran offline, but the songlist's gonna be shorter (especially no anime, lack of jpop, etc)
Taiko (HD update onwards) can be ran offline, too, but the songlist will be also shorter.
