I do have to admit, the illustrations and the graphics look pretty nice!

So this is basically one of the only, if not, THE only Bemani/rhythm game where the characters are actually useful to gameplay?

So, this looks like a music game, which is a bad rip-off of NEON FM

And Neon FM is...?

-popn controller.jpg-

NeonFM was apparently based on bongos, just so happened to be like popn

I applaud them for not making something shitty like rerave

As much as I don't mind using your Graphica point for regenerating your life (since it's a "always hard-mode" type game, hence no-life, you lost), but Graphica having an influence on your score seems like bullshit...

Well, all the people I know who went to the test today were pretty satisfied with most going again tomorrow
It also seems that the actual release of the game may not be that far away (not the usual 6 months~)
I'm pretty sad to have work (and over-work) for the remaining of the week or else I would go as well

By the way, the timing window seems to be lenient (like most of the recent games released), so no pop'n/DDR/IIDX/etc... kind of difficulty here
It's probably going to turn in another perfect-aiming game (depending on how turns out this "increase-score via Graphica")

That twitter account owner is here. I think I'm late.
That photos are from Famitsu's post and I just extracted some of them to explain about MUSECA for my followers.
There wasn't any brave(I don't think that is brave, but anyway) player to take a shot of gameplay screen.

I guess I have to apologize for my words (or lack thereof) about this game. It looks pretty cool, knowing that there's more to it than just hitting the buttons.

It's not a complete copy/ripoff of NeonFM. Being able to turn the drums and having the pedal is enough to make it different than NeonFM. It's like trying to say Pump It Up is a 100% rip off of DDR.

I think the characters are a cool idea. It adds a visual customization element I don't see much in rhythm games. The microtransaction angle is killing me though.

All I know is that so far this actually looks very good on a visual level. Until I get to see video of gameplay in action, I'll keep my thoughts to myself aside from what I know so far - it seems fun.

By the way, despite my horible luck at getting a ticket for playing Copula, I was able to vent some frustration on the 2nd Location Test of Museca.
Some changes have been made this time.
Now, the pedal is actually a note, so the game is 5 spinner+pedal
Also, changes have been made to the grafica (those characters that you get by paying).
You can now equip up to 3 at the same time. Their activation is "random" (you don't decide it), indicated by a change of color on the screen (kind of like the wailing for Guitar Freaks)
Activation of the Grafica will have some effects like increasing the speed, recovery, easier critical, sudden, and more importantly it will CHANGE the position of the lanes

As of now, lanes are in a W form, but depending on you grafica, it can become a straight line, be reversed to a M (impossible to read...), or even having the lanes start from the center and going "outside"

Well, overall the game is pretty fun but I have one big problem with it so far, and it's the position of the spinners, with 3 on top and 2 on bottom.
Being used to IIDX or pop'n where it's reversed (more on the bottom than the top), I kept missing notes because of it.
Guess it'll be an habit to take but that was really annoying

Hmmmm, MUSECA....the idea of the whole machine having a resemblance to SDVX is throwing me off a bit. SDVX is still really fun and unique on its own. With MUSECA coming in, I'm not sure if I'd feel like I'm playing on an entirely new unique arcade machine (with that fresh new unique feeling that I had with SDVX). BeatStream also didn't give me that new fresh unique machine feeling.

beatmania, beatmaniaIIDX, pop'n music, DDR, jubeat, REFLEC BEAT, GuitarFreaks, Drummania, Keyboardmania, SDVX, ParaParaParadise, DanceManiaX, and even Dance Evolution all gave me a fresh unique experience when I first played them.

I can only hope that this new entry (MUSECA) lives up as a new truly unique game (its reputation is already being tarnished by the 'slight' resemblance to NeonFM, but this is like saying BeatStream is just the touchscreen version of MaiMai) in the arcade. Frankly, I don't think it'll do as well as SDVX.....its popularity may be on par with BeatStream and/or Future Tom Tom.

A new Location test showed up unannounced at Game Station Palo in Seisekisakuragaoka (Tokyo) for the week-end

Big change
You don't pay anymore for Grafica
You receive them as you play
That's a pretty good thing

There is also changes in the notes and such, making it overall a lot more readable, and easier to play
I haven't went there so I only heard some reports but overall, it's going in a better direction (and it better do a lot of effort if it wants to have some success)
