touhou remix week: the theme avoided

Literally almost everything I have a-brewin' in the WIP folder. This is more of "Which file do I release" than a "Which file do I even step" challenge this week.

I lied. I read the theme completely wrong.

OK, so if I understand well, fan-made remixes found on OCremix for example, are not allowed.

And what about arranged versions found in official OSTs ? don't hurt me

This is definitely going to be a really rough week for me if standalone remixes aren't allowed

If a song is not original from the game, but it's in the game (i.e. Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 soundtrack), am I allowed to send it?

I think it has to originate from the game though. So THPS2 is not allowed.

ok to make things easier, the song doesn't have to originate from a non-rhythm game, just appearance is enough. treat remixes as a separate entity from the original song here. for example, original song appeared in a rhythm game, a remix showed up in a racing game (without being in any rhythm game); original song isn't eligible, remix is.

So then something like a song featured in THPS2 (to use Bruno's example) would be fine. That's good to know, I've got a couple of WIP's that could work for this week.

After looking quickly through my list of favorite VGM tracks, I settled on this one, from the excellent game Shovel Knight. The game is a phenomenal throwback to the glory days of 2D platformers, and Jake Kaufman's music is perfect as well. I feel like DJ YOSHITAKA could do a great remix of this track. As for the chart, it bounces back and forth between a comfortable 112.5 BPM and a speedy 225, so choose your speed mod wisely.
