Hey guys, can any of you help me regarding how to get the backgrounds to NOT appear in songs that have an accompanying video?
I've been trying to get "un deux trois" from DDR SuperNOVA to do this and instead display a black screen until the music starts (as far as i know the video and the song start at the same time, 4 counts after the first beat).
Here's the code/script:
Now what I have noticed between this code and the code of other songs (such as Follow Tomorrow from DDR 2014) is that even with the -nosongbg- in the script, the background will still appear unless the time (in this case it's 4.000) is negative. I've tried setting it to negative but it just shows the video for a brief moment before it shows the background. Not stretched and in the middle of the screen.
This has annoyed me time and time again me since the day I discovered that you can open the stepchart files with Notepad especially since it's already stated in the code don't automatically add -songbackground-.
So, can anybody please help? Thanks in advance!

Well.have you tried to see if the -song background- has to be changed with the file of the background? I'm not sure but Stepmania shouldn't find the background with just that piece of text
Or put a black background in the folder. This way the background will be there but it will show just like you wanted, a black screen

the nosongbg thing at the end prevents the songbg from appearing at the end of the song.
If you don't want it to appear at the beginning, then use this:
-99999=-nosongbg-=1.000=0=0=0 // don't automatically add -songbackground-
Edit: Ignore this, it doesn't work.
I generally use a black 1-pixel cdtitle so I can upload them easily to ZIv. I don't use them anyway so it's fine.

it's "#BGCHANGES:4" in DDR Extreme2 revivals and "#BGCHANGES:0" in SN or upper but some songs.
"99999=-nosongbg-=1.000=0=0=0 // don't automatically add -songbackground-" only works in SM 3.9 and variants. Delete if not work in SM5 or if the video ends with BG like MAX300.
