And started to rip new things like sounds and graphics missing from the takuya's theme. See ya later with more news ;)

Here's something for you, Try making the options just like the Arcade version.
Black background, etc, just like the 5th mix theme for SM5 Make it arcade based.

It would have to be the exact same as the Arcade version.
Same options. same font.

That is not a problem I could do both versions and make an "Addon" folder to replace the Lua files or add a conditional to change the screen if the payment mode is arcade or home ;) the arcade screen is simply a black screen with another font (Helvetica maybe?) I'll check for that. I'll be reading the theming and checking some codes to implement one of the options.

Yes, there are some updates, I've benn busy this week, but this is still going on Big Grin

Arranged the select style screen:
http://i.imgur.com/Ad76Znw.jpg

Added screen arrow information screen:
http://i.imgur.com/nOvX2SE.jpg

The first version of game mode screen:
http://i.imgur.com/DCr4iWc.jpg

I was busy with the announcer, and ripping the noteskins Wink but still there is a lot of things to do. I'm cheking some additional things that I didn't know how to change, but the theme is near to the first release. I only need to update the gameplay screen, battle and courses. But well, still left a lot of time to do so. I'll start working on a courses repository starting with the DDRX series. Stay tuned!

Thanks for watching and effort with this project. Very Happy

Some news from this project:

I've been busy these days ripping and getting more resources for my noteskins and courses projects. But this is not abandoned. Searching and reading, I've made changes, the select mode screen now has the 5 options of the DDRX version, still with a misplace of elements, but it works Big Grin I'll have to fix some positions later. Also added the timer and scoring font. And update the normal gameplay screen with the correct position for values of 9 numbers. I also included the commented lines for the original 7 numbers score while I search how to implement the custom scorings.

http://i.imgur.com/qDMWdZQ.jpg

Also fixed a bug with the judgement and misses that have causing the judgement scroll to the bottom of the screen. And more little fixes that I don't remember at this time. Big Grin There's nothing more till this moment. Stay tuned for more news Very Happy and thanks for watching!

"Just Play Along"
Very excited for this theme, especially considering DDR X was the last arcade game with song wheel and banners, so I've always wanted a theme of this.

I've always had a hard time looking for official noteskins (currently on the lookout for vivid, rainbow, note and flat noteskins from DDR 2014) so I'll be on the lookout for that noteskins thread.

Is there any chance that the song wheel will be tilted in 3D like in the actual game? Looking forward to that.

Also, I would use footage of the PS2 version for graphic placements if you want to optimize it for 4:3 aspect ratio as well. h1auz on YouTube has some nice video captures of the game, if that is of any good use. https://www.youtube.com/user/hl1auz

Best of wishes, MadkaT! Big Grin

Yes, I'm doing it, cause I've played in the original arcade, and for the 10th anniversary of DDR I was waiting a better quality product, the betson panels and the problems with the flat screen, should de fixed before the public release, but who cares. I'm trying to make some justice to this title. With stepmania we could get a decent version of what the arcade could be. Now the arcade cabinet that has DDRX is now a refurbished ITG, but due to the facts I still prefer the DDRX in his cabinet. I like ITG, but in the DDRX cabinet looks so ugly to my opinion. Tongue

Yes, there's no much love about the extra noteskins in the DDR series, but across those years I've collecting them. I've dumped mos of the SN/X ps2 series noteskins, the Ultramix noteskins are dumped too, and the DCT and TKD special noteskins. At this moment I'm only working in the SN/X and Ultramix series, but the main idea is to cover most of the official noteskins with the shock arrows for every noteskin. That will be a long work too. I'll start to make the repository with my Normal noteskin, is like the template for creating the other arrows.

Yes, this is not done yet, because I'm a noob and I haven't found the metrics to do so Tongue but I'll try to make it closest to the arcade/ps2 original versions.

Mainly I want to recreate the widescreen arcade version, but most of the elements would work in a 4:3 screen, when the theme is in a decent playing stage, I could check the metrics to make it fit in normal and wide screens automatically. For the videos I only need arcade videos, for the placing of the elements, I'm using the ps2 version in the pcsx2 emulator Wink

Thanks! Making themes is a hard work. (And I am only porting one Green Grin ). But I'm learning a lot of thing in the process.

And for the progress news, I'm messing with the fonts! (And other things)

The themes had a lot of config, params and variables, but I will survive Very Happy Thanks for watching!

Are you gonna make a build just like Bewares Extreme where the DDR X songs are ordered in the right order?
Alot of DDR Themes do this.

I really like this theme, but is it possible to make the settings menu like the actual game. I think that would be a nice touch.

Alot of DDR Themes do this.

As far a I know, the Beware version has a custom developed .exe to do so, but we could make a "patch" for this, if the goal is to recreate the arcade, we could assign numbers to the group folders, and make them invisible in the font. The DDRX song groups don't use numbers as far a I can remember, then it would solve this Very Happy when the theme is done. Maybe could be done with some coding, the LUA inclusion gives more flexibility to avoid modifying the source code. But is a good idea to make something similar to the Beware Extreme version. Wink Can you tell me the themes that do this kind of sorting? I could check them to give me ideas.

Do you mean the song options over the music selection?

If you are meaning the song options over the music selection, watching the sillybear themes on youtube, he has done that, maybe it will not so easy to do, but I think it could be done with a lot of effort and LUA studying. With a lot of LUA coding this could be better than the official arcade build. Testing themes and seeing others work, SM5 has a lot of potential to recreate and improve the DDR official versions, like some themes has shown in different themes and videos on the web.

In other news, I've cleaned a bit the song results screen Green Grin

The operator options? I'm working on that too. There's an answer before.

Well for the group sorting, I've made a test with symbols and voilá:

Using this:

Result in this:
http://i.imgur.com/GyqgZFO.jpg

There is only left modify the font to hide the symbols that help with the sorting. And it will be used in the same way with the songs.

You can actually do the music wheel default song sorting by editing [current theme]/Others/SongManager PreferredSongs.txt. No need to modify song folders.

Format is showed in the following example (top group comes first in music wheel):

--- DDR 2013
DDR 2013/ACROSS WORLD
DDR 2013/BRIGHT STREAM
DDR 2013/Burst The Gravity
DDR 2013/Choo Choo TRAIN
--- DDR X3 VS 2ndMIX
DDR X3 VS 2ndMIX/Connect
DDR X3 VS 2ndMIX/Heavy Rotation
DDR X3 VS 2ndMIX/Memeshikute
DDR X3 VS 2ndMIX/future gazer
DDR X3 VS 2ndMIX/STRAIGHT JET
--- DDR X2
DDR X2/Be your wings
DDR X2/Bonafied Lovin'
DDR X2/CAPTAIN JACK (GRANDALE REMIX)
DDR X2/DAFT PUNK IS PLAYING AT MY HOUSE
DDR X2/DAM DARIRAM
DDR X2/ETERNITY

and so on.

Editing the operator options is a good way to inconvenience people by forcing them to switch to another theme when they need to modify one of the special options that doesn't exist in DDR.

We were´nt talking about that, they like the operator BG is black like the arcade version. I would like a theme that covers AC and CS versions of DDRX. That's all.

And for the today news, I've conditioned the TitleMenu Bg componentes to show only in home mode:

http://i.imgur.com/wAJnDBM.jpg

And added the arcade join message:
