Sounds pretty silly, I know. I wasn't even thinking about this until I recently played with 513 and he was trying to sync the song being played with a video playing on his phone. I told him there's gotta be a better way then that. He the told me that another Taiwanese player, TSU, has printed out the ending run on a paper next to the machine.
Obviously the reason for this because normal people can't read 900 BPM on reverse. Since Max. with probably be Encore stage for a while, I thought it would be interesting to see what you guys could come up with.
Basically, what do you this would be the best way to cheat your way through passing Max. on Encore?
Personally I wouldn't wan't to have a printed sheet of paper to read off of since I know it wouldn't work well for me. I tried a few times to sync the chart with a video on my phone but in the last part I just couldn't read it due to the shaking. My 2nd idea was to use my laptop placed on a chair in front of the machine with the video file on my computer, this seemed to work better but I had trouble syncing it. 513 thinks it is better to sync at the middle stop, right before the paranoia part and I think it's better to sync on the first step.
Anyways, I want to know you're guys' opinions. Even if it doesn't work out well in the end, I'd love to hear some clever ideas.

Here is another example of what Dr.Dvids is talking about, even passing Egoism 440. c:
The concept has been used a lot way before using it for MAX.(period). I lot of people printed charts to get past certain missions in Extreme (USA) in Mission Mode because they had various weird things that made the charts unreadable. In this case, this would be understandable as nobody can read 600 BPM on 1.5x. That would be ridiculous.
I'd think this would be fine if you drape the chart over the arcade machine actually and play by sound. You would have to memorize the slowdown in the middle which would suck but you could be more focused on the paper in front of you than a paper below you.

Is the load time for the song on the machine the same each time for Max.(period)? And is the load time the same for the song on Stepmania? If so, you can just take a stop watch and time both of them to see how long it takes from button press to when the song actually starts playing. So if it takes 5 seconds for the machine version to go from button press to music playing and it takes Stepmania on a laptop 3 seconds to go from button press to music playing, click a stopwatch right as you press the arcade button....then press the button for Stepmania as soon as you come to 3 seconds on the stopwatch. I think that would get the sync pretty close as between the machine and a laptop with Stepmania.
Besides that, I'm not sure of any other way next to printing out a stepchart on paper, using Stepmania on a laptop, watching a video of the chart while playing, or just memorizing the end run

Just do what most people do for 888; memorize the ending.

Sightread songs with a specific speedmod so the scroll rate is 900 beats per minute. Keep doing that until you're used to it. It may not be cheating, but it's definitely a way to prep yourself.

Not to be rude or mean, but it's kinda silly to try and cheat something we've technically had access to for almost 12 years now.

Memorizing is by far the best way to accomplish this task and wouldn't be considered cheating. I may eventually do that, but for now I'm curious what ways are the best without it.
Whether or not we had access to this song for 12 years, to clear it in its current state is what matters now. I also know it has been cleared. Again, this is mostly for fun. And no matter what method we discover, if I ended up clearing it, it would not be anywhere close to the record I will get in the future when the song is playable on normal stages. So don't worry about that.

You're forced to use 1.5x and Reverse when you get MAX. (period) as Encore Extra Stage.

When people were trying to pass it on DDR Extreme CS release day, the most popular method was to print out a graphic of the stepchart, and just read off that once you get to the speed up.
There was also a Stepmania / DWI file of the song made without the speedup. Some people ran that on a laptop, and tried to time the start of the song with the start of the encore stage, so that they could just follow the steps on the laptop on 1x, for the entire song. That always seemed like it was more trouble than just memorising the pattern, though.
Edit : I didn't watch the video, to see that you've already done that ^^;

You could just memorize the ending. :\
DDR EXTREME CS also forces you to play MAX. (period) on Extra Stage with x1.5 + Reverse. If I recall, there's more reading space with DDR 2014.

So the DDR 2014 makes it easier to read?

The interface in EXTREME covers some of the top and bottom of the screen, giving the arrows less space for scrolling. Whether that makes an appreciable difference, probably not, but it's certainly a difference between now and then.

For me, it does. On X2, I can read at about 500-550. On EXTREME, I'm stuck around 450 due to the screen borders.
