Hello folks! I wanted to start by saying I honestly made this account for an opportunity to reach out to a community who may know a solution to my dilema. I purchased a Dance Dance Revolution ENERGY metal dance pad online (http://www.ddrgame.com/dance-dance-revolution-pc-energy-metal-dpcd2.html).
This pad broke shortly after i received it, the pad seemingly disconnects from the PC and loses power. No other USB devices attached to the computer have this problem, just the pad. Unplugging it and plugging it back in fixes the issue. After fighting with the distributor for a while i was able to get a replacement. Now i'm having the same problem and the distributor won't help at all because it's outside of any form of warranty yet the pads about 3 months old.
I'm wondering if anyone has experience with Metal Dance Pads and may know the cause / fix for this situation. I'd love to fix this pad as i want to continue playing since i'm about $350 down the hole with busted pads.

unfortunately DDRGAME has a really bad reputation with making pretty bad pads. mine broke less then a week into play.

That's normal, it's made by DDRGame.
Next time get an Omega GX, used Cobalt Flux, or used Blueshark.

Is your pad connected to DDRGame's USB PC adapter? I know i've had to get like 6 replacements and after the 6th one i just bought a different one and it works perfectly

They did. You can buy them used whenever possible.

Check your local Craigslist every so often. I actually bought my Cobalt Flux from someone on this site (tj28) via Craigslist and it has served me well. eBay can be a good place to look as well.
Just be on the lookout for any metal pad that has a decent reputation like the Flux, the RedOctane Afterburner, or the BlueShark. Alternatively, you can get the Omega GX pads which a couple of people have already mentioned. I have not played on one but I've heard nothing but very good things about them.

I meant the company. I actually have a really old Cobalt Flux with a box that looks like it was homebrewed. It still works well but for some reason, I can't get it to work with Win7 64-bit .

Come to think of it, my SM setup doesn't like my PS2 metal pad, however, my modded RedOctane pad works just fine.

I do this as a service to the community to help people out that can't afford to purchase a new metal pad yet and still have working CF dance pads because CF made some really shitty C-Boxes. I had to make my first CF control box back in 2003 when my official one died and CF quit making the 9-pin boxes. You'll even see on my site I support the old 9-pin models and the newer 15-pin models because I'm all about community support and they are reasonably priced including shipping.
