I mean, I know people who still play (like me). But what I mean is more or less this: Is Konami still targeting/making games for the US for DDR?

No one plays DDR anymore except couples and little kids who don't know what they're doing. So yes.

Although I did see one of those kids get a 20 combo of perfects on an 8 without looking at the screen but DDR is still dead so it doesn't matter.

This is an accurate statement.

At least Suikoden fans got an official statement from Konami that they had "no plans" to continue the series anytime soon.

I guess since DDR still exists as a current product in Asia, they won't say that.

But look, DDR is now where it was back in 1998: A super niche arcade only title. Import only.

Sadly, it's almost abandoned in Japan and East Asian countries because NAOKI's gone...

I don't think Naoki's departure has been a factor in the series current state in arcades. He didn't even really compose many songs for DDR in his last few years with Konami. Good thing he did a boatload of songs back in 2008/2009 that were spread out on release through DDR2013. TAG has been doing a good job.

When Konami started Hinabita project, Meumeupettanpettan and Chikuwa Parfeitdayo CKP were also available in DDR, but when there are more Hinabita songs released(such as Hunted Maidlunch and Metsubou tenshi nikokyuppin) they are available jubeat, Reflec Beat, GITADORA, and pop'n but not available them in DDR.

in 2014, a few new exclusive songs in DDR. the new songs are from other BEMANI games (like Shakunetsu Beach Side Bunny, SPECIAL SUMMER CAMPAIGN!) and the all BEMANI linked campaigns (BEMANI Iseki event)

There is no NAOKI, no jun in DDR. TAG and U1-ASAMi are still in Konami but they wrote just a few songs...

Pump. That is the only other panel dance game being developed currently.

EDIT: Also I think the idea that Naoki leaving killed DDR is just silly. Naoki never was the only musician for DDR or even really the best one.

No.

They haven't released an arcade release here since 2010 or a console game since 2011. So we have to resort to games like Stepmania. Sorry, but that's the way it is.

Short answer? Yes.

Long answer? YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES.

Approximately nobody asked for this song to be included. Least popular decision by the Japanese since Nintendo released the Wii U.

DDR, dead at dawn

But seriously DDR is dead in US there because of Just Dance and Dance Central's popularity in US.

Case closed, requesting lock.

I have access to three DDR Extremes that are no more than 30min a way, and a SuperNOVA about 10min away from my place. Supposedly SN2 in Cinci at GameWorks, haven't had a chance to check it out.

Ohio, specifically the Dayton Area has some good machines and there's a good sized group of us who go and play. It may be dead marketing-wise here in the US, but the game lives on for those of us who love it.

Agreed, especially since there's a SN2 and 2014 at different locations 30 mins away from me.

There's currently an SN2 in Columbus about an hour from me which will soon be a 2014, and another 2014 in Findlay, but that's about 2 hours away.

I'm willing to drive as far as I need to in order to keep these machines alive.

"My paw is incompurrable!"
Maybe it's already dead after X2. X3 has no US counterpart. On top of that, in my country, Just Dance and Dance Beat get more hype than DDR and old DDR mixes start to decrease in number.
