Z-I-v Simfile Tournament of Immortals 5 [EVENT OVER]

I do agree that not everything needs to be a freaking 10 footer (don't get me started on R21 ITG charts). However I can see how someone can look at a chart and wish they could have had a little more to it. Perfect example being Rainbow Rainbow in DDR SuperNOVA. They could have done much more and could have made that a 9 with ease but the heavy 7 chart is still really fun to play.

When I make a chart, I make it so it's more fun and goes with the song, but if there's parts that I could really make the chart challenging then I'll make a chart for it. That's kind of what makes simfiles and contests like this pretty neat. Two people can step the same song but have different ideas on what works and what doesn't. There's no 100% right way to make a chart, it's simply different strokes for different folks.

The reason I always have both a and chart (with the exception of maybe two files that I've released) is to try and please both sides; the side that just wants to have fun and the side that wants to be challenged. Instead of viewing one or the other as the main chart, I consider them both the main chart. I think I'm so Happy did this really well and I wish more songs in DDR would do this.

LOVE IS TIMING I think could have gone up to a low 9 at most while still being fun. A 7 is perfect for , I just didn't personally find it that interesting.

Since I'm participating in Doubles, can I use a file that I have uploaded that currently has Singles only and make Doubles charts for this contest? Would that be considered a violation of this rule?

Adding to the ongoing discussion, best thing you can hope to do is to get the most out of a song/file that you can while still keeping it enjoyable for the player, whether the charts be hard or easy. I'll agree LOVE IS TIMING certainly has the potential for a chart, but as it stands it's a fine file in my book.

Goddamn I had a really hard time with Silverhawke/Pie-kun and had to nitpick just to decide on the vote. Also ilysm Gameoson bc that chart was just so much fun, definitely one of my favorites this week alongside the two mentioned earlier. Some tough pairings this week with Silverhawke/Pie-kun & Gameoson/DDRDAIKENKAI.

I guess I automatically move on then, since brunobg dropped out.

I just wanna say, upon playing Move Your Body when it was published, against Copy & Paste, I thought I was done for. Gameoson, you're great. And so was your file.

Funny thing is this is exactly how I felt when I played Copy & Paste. I'm glad I had tough competition, that's part of the fun in competing!
