If I remember correctly, DDR X2 was only officially released as a bundle. They never made a standalone release.

Ah.. Thanks. That makes sense now.
The game alone still looks expensive though.

Try checking on Craigslist or Local Retro Gaming shop (provided if there is one in your area).

eBay might be the best bet, although Amazon also had the game available:

But you're right, it is expensive for a relatively old game. .

The last game in any long-running series to be released on a specific console always commands fairly high prices. DDR X2 USA isn't anywhere near as expensive as DDR New Moves or Hottest Party 5, which both sell for $60 - $75 in the UK.

That said, I don't have one yet :{

Odd, I was able to get New Moves and DDR II (Hottest Party 5) for $10 each. Don't know why it's so expensive over there.

Odd, I was able to get New Moves and DDR II (Hottest Party 5) for $10 each. Don't know why it's so expensive over there.

My understanding is that because every PAL game is published in 5 different languages, and the English-language version is usually the one with the smallest print run. For every 100 NTSC copies of DDR II, 100 of them are in English. For every 100 copies of Hottest Party 5, only 20 of them are in English, and every collector wants the English copies.

I'm one game off a complete PAL collection, and I was very, very patient about the whole thing. I saw lots of English copies of New Moves sell for £50, and the cheapest I was ever offered one was £40. There are lots of German copies being passed off as English copies on Ebay, and those tend to go for cheaper. I eventually got my copy for £7, and a second copy with the dance mat for £15.

Hottest Party 5 was more annoying, because it's my favorite DDR game by an absolute mile. It doesn't really have a set price amongst collectors, because English copies of it simply don't change hands. Again, German copies are worth about £20, and I caved long ago and picked up a Spanish copy for £10. I've just (literally today) bought an English copy for £12, but I know when it arrives that there's a high chance it'll be a German copy, in which case I'll use it as trade fodder for Wii games :{

why don't they just put a language select at the beginning and make one version of the game... seems like it'd save money, both for the consumers and for the game company

Remember, There's a song list change too.
But that would mean America would get the right songs in the right mix.
Okay. Go for it. +999 This idea.
