Man, I wish I enjoyed making simfiles enough to participate in one of these. But making just one for a two minute song is a hassle for me because I always lose what little consistency I have in the beginning of the song and I just lose interest due to lack of confidence. I also have trouble varying my patterns so that the chart isn't repetitive and boring. Yeah, I have a lot of problems.

Anyway, just thought I'd share.

Guess I'll be the first person to vote this round.

so the charts [for Grass (Super Eurobeat Mix)] came out somewhat sloppy... The Light and Standard suck as always, I can't step lower difficulties for shizzle

False and false. I didn't think any of the charts were sloppy at all and Light and Standard were perfectly fine.
Haha, thanks man, glad to hear that the steps worked out.

On another note, only 6 entries this week? A bit surprising to me, I'd imagine more people being able to participate due to the holidays and all V:

My votes for this week (as there are only six songs and was easy to play them all)

Grass (Super Eurobeat Mix): Such a good song with good steps and Korean game-like speed changes, it's awesome Tongue
Decretum: It's like a boss song
Kocchi wo Muiteyo -midnight jazzin' mix-: It's simple but enjoyable
ZED: Good steps but the challenge has a lot of diagonal jumps, I don't like them.
Rainbow Road: I like how the freezes were stepped, but the challenge was confusing.
Red Lights: The song doesn't make it.

+5 Grass (Super Eurobeat Mix) [Loodee]
+4 Decretum [Gameoson]
+4 Kocchi wo Muiteyo -midnight jazzin' mix- [brunobg24]
+1 ZED [Dreamland200]
+1 Rainbow Road [Spork!]

I'm not used to doing LR jumps and UD jumps as it adds more movement to the flow. Diagonal jumps for me puts off less pressure of the movement.

I know I will be annoying there...but honestly I would have liked some feedback instead of a "it doesn't make it" and a sorry. I mean, you gave some to all the other 5 charts with mine being the only one who hasn't and it makes me wonder why. Sorry for this but I thought of expressing this feeling of mine.

Red Lights: Doing this one first as you asked about your reviews. The problem isn't your steps really, its just the song. In all honesty a slow paced & repetitive song that runs 2:29 isn't going to really churn up a spectacular file which is why I didn't step Red Lights myself (Or really much of what I've been assigned this contest bc dear lord I would just be putting out monotonous and dull charts with what I've been given). Although if you want feedback on your steps, heres a couple of tips. Your rhythms are nice, this is something people around here never really have a problem with. However one thing a lot of people seem to struggle is patterning and when to use certain patterns. With that I'm talking about your chart being loitered with unnecessary spins. In my opinion if you're going to use spins/walks/foot-switches, use them in moderation & only where its fitting to that certain section of the song so the person who's playing your chart can enjoy them appropriately. Second thing now is the slowdowns, slowdowns aren't a bad thing and can be used right, but just know when to use them as I feel like that second slowdown towards the end was unnecessary and the chart could've gone without it.

Grass (Super Eurobeat Mix): Good, lol nothing much to say as its usually what I see you put out haha. Although why no stop during the little break on m33? Cry Wink

Decretum: I can never be disappointed with anything you put out haha, although m41-49 should've use some stops to coincide with rhythms instead.

ZED: Just as I said with Loodee, its good and what im used to you putting out haha. Second half of the chart is where things really came to life though.

Rainbow Road: I was scared of touching the Challenge chart after seeing the comments. Anyways your Heavy wasn't bad and was pretty decent.

Kocchi wo Muiteyo -midnight jazzin' mix-: Well it was decent lol, nothing too special. You got the rhythm's down, one thing I always notice with your files though is you never have any defined patterns in your charts. You should try working on that and working with patterns that go along with the song & its rhythms.

I agree with what Scarz said about Red Lights (minus the second slowdown, I had no problem with that). None of the spins on the Heavy chart actually felt like they accented the music in any way. They were kind of just thrown in for the sake of having spins. Spins are a difficult pattern, so it's not a good idea to use too many of them.

You're doing good, you just have to watch out for how many spins you're using (and cross your fingers for better songs Wink ).

I'm so sorry, MRace. Didn't mean to be harsh by leaving you out.

My concern about your steps, other than the excessive spins Scarz stated (which even stretches out to your Beginner chart, ugh), is that a good chunk of your steps is ambiguous. Specifically, I'm talking about the condition where you have a jump followed by a step that's not the same arrow as the two arrows that make up the step, like L+U followed by D or something. This may cause doublesteps if your way of stepping and the player's way are different. I find this a lot in your Standard chart, but Light and Heavy have them, too. Unless that step after the jump is L or R (even that in some cases can be a disturbance), you may want to stick to your step being one of the two that makes up the jump.

Thank you for the feedback everyone and thank you for the time you have given for this. So yeah, I'll use spins with moderation from now XD (but how they managed to get in Beginner is a mystery to me Shocked)

Also, thank you vincent for pointing out the ambiguous steps. You were not the first pointing out but still I appreciate the fact you did Big Grin

Oh yes, I probably won't participate to Round 7 since I want to relax a bit and because I have other things to do that are more important. For Electrodynamix...I don't know, it will probably be released on Sunday or Monday, I have no clue...

I'm the first to send a simfile...I can't believe it o.o
Well, turns out this cut is exactly the same one of Geometry Dash (dangit that game)...which means it's supershort. I mean, it's 6 seconds less than Pound The Alarm who was the shortest song in the pack. Now I claim the title with this one Big Grin

I'm not going to say anything about this but expect bpm gimmicks and jumps, MANY jumps (even more than LA FESTA LA VIDA!!)
