Top 5 Best And Worst Fan Bases

I really have to agree with this post. The people in the Walmart fandom are much nicer than the people in the Target fandom. The Target fandom acts all high-and-mighty because the people who shop there pay a little bit more money than they do at Walmart. Honestly, some bad things happen at Target.

Exhibit A:

If this girl would have went to Walmart instead of Target, she wouldn't have been harrassed by Michael Jackson.

Exhibit B:

This wouldn't happen at Walmart because there are never any cashiers present.

I'm not saying bad things don't happen at Walmart. But the nice members of the fandom, the rollbacks, and the entertainment seen throughout the aisles of the store are some reasons why Walmart >>> Target.

Good fandom: Rolie Polie Olie

This fandom is small, but when I examined the show (animation, characters, stories) so that this could exist, it seemed like the 'fandom' was friendly and I never saw anything bad on a RPO video. I like it, I don't have to worry someone's going to ruin it for me.

Which brings me to the worst fandom: The object community.

Two teenage boys in highschool make a show for fun. About inanimate stick figure objects. Sounds good, right? Alone, yes, but it's fandom... The show is getting copied by a bunch of kids (80% of those shows aren't even good), kids rage to jacknjellify about time constraints on newer episodes of BFDIA, and in general, the fandom is just chaotic and stressful to be around.

Thanks for the condolences King_Mew. Too many damn elites in the Sonic fandom. A good example is when Sonic CD was re-released on the retro engine. People (read as elites) were complaining about having Tails as a playable character, although he was playable after you unlock him.

As a person who listens to black metal and death metal exclusively on youtube along with the more mainstream bands like slipknot and dimmu borgir (both get plenty of hate from said people), this is very true.

Some people cant handle the fact that tastes in music is different from person to person.

I hate the fanbases for big anime like Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, or Attack on Titan. Most of the time the dismiss any other anime as "shit" and that their show is the best.

To be fair, the other side tends to think that too. I think Naruto, Bleach, etc. are shit and I think that Serial Experiments Lain is the best, but that's probably only because I have good taste am pretentious.

As part of the Bleach fanbase myself I've had the opposite experience (at least with Bleach, can't really speak for the others except AoT on which I agree). It's a pretty self-deprecating fanbase and most Bleach fans will acknowledge that it's not anywhere close to perfect, and are often more into other shows. It was way worse a fanbase when the anime was still running IMO.

Content: I watched a few episodes of WataMote (is that still going?) before I got grossed out by the fanbase, because at least the parts I saw of that fanbase idolized the main character Tomoko as if they were glorifying NEET culture and being a shut-in and that Really Isn't Something To Glorify.

A long time ago, I used to be part of the Sonic fan community (particularly on deviantART), but at the same time I was "trying" to be part of the ITG community. I eventually found out the hard way that the combination was as deadly as Mentos with soda.

Apparently, a good portion of the ITG community decided I deserved to be disrespected & cyberbullied to the maximum extent, just because I was part of the Sonic fan community. Apparently, the ITG community not only failed to understand the concept behind "Sonic fan characters", but greatly disrespected whoever involved himself/herself in that sort of thing.

After "disappearing" for two years, I forced myself to leave the Sonic fandom...just so I could start over in the ITG community. Destroyed me from the inside just to do it.

Yugioh is a great fandom. I like the game, the meta, the players, and pretty much everything about the game this far is perfect (at least to me). It's a bit pricey but you can buy a deck that isn't pricey.

Patrick Hoban is a bad fandom as he made a great name for himself by winning + topping many YuGiOh events including YCS Toronto and other ARG event. Too bad his image has been damaged after he "cheated" at ARG Fort Lauderdale with the #djinngate situation.

Note: ARG stands for AlteRealityGames which is a gaming store that holds its own independent yugioh tournaments and such across the United States.
